Bollywood has been a place of diversity when it comes to its dancing. The music is the life of movies, and dance is the heart of the songs. As we celebrate International Dance Day, here are a few movie songs that cherish different dance forms.

Jab We Met- Bhangra - 'Nagada Nagada'

Jab We Met is one of the most loved movies of all time. The Imtiaz Ali directorial went on to become a classic, while the movie's song has a separate fan base altogether. One of the songs that instantly became everyone’s favourite was 'Nagada Nagada' - the Punjabi track quickly got picked by the audience who loved it for Geet aka Kareena Kapoor and Aditya aka Shahid Kapoor's Bhangra moves.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela - Garba - 'Nagade Sang Dhol'

Garba is one of the most popular dance forms in the country. This form has been appreciated in Bollywood through several songs, one of the most popular being 'Nagade Sang Dhol' from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ramleela. This song shows Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, the members of two rival Gujarati families, dancing their hearts out to the Garba beats.

Padmaavat - Ghoomar - 'Ghoomar'

Ghoomar is a well-known dance form, widely recognized in Rajasthan. The folk dance is about taking multiple rounds in one go. This dance form was used by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his historical drama Padmaavat. Deepika Padukone, who portrays the role of Rani Padmavati in the film, dances to the Ghoomar song royally and grandly.

Devdas- Classical - ‘Dola Re Dola'

Classical is yet another widely recognized dance form in Bollywood songs. There have been several songs from 'Inhi Logon Ne' to 'Maar Dala,' which have an essence of classical dancing. 'Dola Re Dola' is yet another example of the use of classical dancing in a Bollywood song. The choreography of the song was something different as it was a mix of Indian classical dance forms. The form of dance that Saroj Khan explored with 'Dola Re Dola' is called Nautwary. It included steps of Kathak and Bharatanatyam.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani- Freestyle - 'Ghagra'

Freestyle is usually used in every other song in the industry. This dance form basically has no such rules and is a mix of all. One of the best examples of Freestyle is 'Ghagra' from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. The song has Ranbir Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit showing their sizzling chemistry and energetic dance moves. With a touch of traditional and modern steps, 'Ghagra' fits perfectly into a Freestyle dance.
