Sidharth Malhotra says his unstoppable attitude got him from Delhi to Mumbai

Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra made his Bollywood debut with ‘Student of the Year’ in 2012 alongside Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Over the years he has been featured in films like ‘Mission Majnu’, ‘Ek Villain’, and ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ to name a few. He was recently at an event to promote a brand and recalled his journey from Delhi to Mumbai, his love for motorbikes, and more. Sidharth was at an event to promote engine oil and made his entry on a motorcycle. While interacting with the media he recalled his first time riding a bike and said, “It was my friend’s bike. We wanted to go to the theatre and he took us there. On the way, I said ‘I will also ride it’. We saved some money and put petrol in it. I was excited and passionate as a young teenager. However, I think safety comes first, and one shouldn’t ride a bike when they’re excited because I still remember how we got saved while taking a turn. But it is important to have that experience, a person learns from their mistakes.” Sidharth further shared his love for bikes and said, “I have a cruiser bike in Mumbai. Harley Davidson, which I use. I rarely get the opportunity to use it. But definitely, it is the charm of a motorbike. It has been in every film of mine.” Sidharth, who has earned fame as one of the top actors in Bollywood said that his unstoppable attitude is what got him from Delhi to Mumbai. “I am not saying that I am over-confident, but self-confidence is that you have been working here for 12 years. You realise that you are doing something right. When I thought of leaving Delhi, I remember my family used to stop me and ask how I’ll become an actor in Mumbai. So breaking all those myths, I felt very good that I am at this stage today.” Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth is basking in the success of his recent release 'Yodha'. The film has been produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan. Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna are also part of the action movie.

Khalnayak 2 Update: Ranbir Kapoor or Allu Arjun - who will play the lead?

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who gave Indian cinema iconic films has all eyes on him as he is set to make the sequel to the 1993 film ‘Khalnayak’. Ballu Balram, played by Sanjay Dutt was one the strongest characters that remains fresh in the audience’s even today. It is now being learned that Ghai has finished scripting the sequel for the film and is on the lookout for its lead character.  A source informs mid-day.com that Shubhash Ghai is in the process of finalising the cast. With the legacy of the original film from 1993 looming large, there's immense pressure on any actor stepping into the shoes of Ballu Balram. That being said, will a seasoned Hindi star known for their versatility, a fresh face ready to make their mark, or perhaps a renowned actor from the South be approached for the role is the question.  The further states that the lead role could be played by Ranbir Kapoor, already known for doing the Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju, or Ranveer Singh, who can easily embody a role, or it could be Yash or Allu Arjun who have a hold down south. Either way, the makers will approach the lot and try to fix one depending on the dates and the budget.  Meanwhile, sources close to the production house hint at final discussions being underway as the film shall hit the floors soon, suggesting that an official announcement about the film will be made imminently. 'Khalnayak' is remembered as one of the biggest hits of the 1990s, and it has since gained cult status. The action crime drama, written, directed, and produced by Subhash Ghai under Mukta Arts Limited, was released on August 6, 1993. It starred Sanjay Dutt (as the villain), Madhuri Dixit, and Jackie Shroff as police officer Ram, and Madhuri as undercover cop Ganga in the film. The movie is known for its music and 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai', sung by Alka Yagnik and Ila Arun, is still liked by the audience. The Sabarmati Reports: Vikrant Massey starrer to be postponed due to elections?

Vikrant Massey, with his performance in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's ‘12th Fail’, stole hearts. Now, the actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming drama, ‘The Sabarmati Reports’. The movie, which was slated to release on May 3, is facing trouble from the CBFC. According to recent reports, the CBFC has asked the makers to push the release of the film considering the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. It was further claimed that the board has asked the filmmakers to reshoot a few sequences as they can hurt human sentiments. “The makers applied for a certificate at the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Its Examining Committee saw the film and had objections to certain scenes. Also, fearing that it might violate the model code of conduct as laid down by the Election Commission of India, it has been advised that it should be released after the last phase of elections, which will take place on June 1," a source told Bollywood Hungama. While another source claimed, “The CBFC’s reservation was that certain moments in the film can hurt the sentiments of a section of the moviegoers. Hence, the team of the film might reshoot the sequence." If these reports are to be believed, then the push in the Raashii Khanna-starrer can benefit Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's sports drama. With a push in ‘The Sabarmati Reports’ release, there will be no Hindi film that will make it to theatres on the first Friday of May. On top of that, there will be no big release before ‘Mr. And Mrs. Mahi’, which is slated to release on May 31. ‘The Sabarmati Report’, starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra, is directed by Ranjan Chandel and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan. On the work front, Vikrant was most recently seen in ‘12th Fail’. ‘12th Fail,’ based on a true story, draws from the struggles of the millions of students attempting the UPSC entrance exam. However, at the same time, it goes beyond that one exam and encourages people not to lose heart in the face of failure and to restart. While Ridhi Dogra has appeared in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Jawan’. The storyline of the movie centres on Azad (played by Shah Rukh Khan), a vigilante police jailer who, along with a group of women, endeavours to reform the corrupt society. Nayanthara takes on the role of a police officer, while Vijay Sethupathi plays the formidable grey antagonist in this captivating spectacle.

Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha

Parineeti Chopra reveals the ONE complaint she has from her husband Raghav

Parineeti Chopra has been receiving rave reviews for her performance in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’. The actress, who married politician Raghav Chadha on 24 September 2023, shared that although she was never interested in politics, she now follows politicians, but Raghav Chadha still knows nothing about the film industry. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Parineeti said, “Ab toh karna padta hai (I've got to follow politics now). But my complaint is that he doesn't follow entertainment. God only knows (what he watched on screen last). And only he knows. I have to cue him. He knows nothing about films. He knows a little about music, but he won't know if it's my film song. So I have to continuously nudge him, ‘Just pretend like you know' (laughs). So it's sweet. But the best thing is that I actually don't know anything about politics, he doesn't know anything about entertainment, so our conversations are about life. That's perfect for me.” Parineeti remarked that initially, she didn't even perceive Raghav as the significant politician he is. “The first time I met him, I had no idea who he was, what he was. So the people who follow politics and know him were like, ‘You’ve married Raghav!' I said, ‘Yeah, what’s the story here?' But now that I know him and his work, who he is and what he does, he's one of the most impressive people. To be the youngest Member of Parliament. At 35, be part of this party and do the work he's doing. I feel like, ‘How do you do it? You’re just a baby! How's this happening?' So it's nice to be married to someone who's not from the industry. I'm too much of a Sufi soul. I have a life outside of the film industry. So if my husband had also been from this industry, I'd have gone mad.  I always want normalcy, and he's made my life even more normal. So I'm married to the most wonderful man,” she added. On the work front, Parineeti was seen in the role of Amarjot, Chamkila’s partner and wife in Imtiaz Ali’s OTT debut. For the film, Parineeti had put on about 10 to 15 kgs weight.

Aayush Sharma with Khan family

Aayush Sharma feels people believe he doesn't 'have brains'

Aayush Sharma often makes headlines, but it's rarely for his films. He rather catches eyes for his connection to the Khan family. Aayush Sharma is married to Salman Khan's sister, Arpita Sharma, and the couple has two kids Ahil and Ayat. Aayush, who is now gearing up for the release of his action drama Ruslaan, opened up about misconceptions people have about him and also talked about his bond with Salman Khan. It was just last week when Aayush got a shout-out from Salman Khan for the trailer of Ruslaan. But did you know? Aayush himself was unaware of the fact that Salman was planning to give him a shout-out. In a recent chat with News18, Aayush said, “When he supports something, it comes out from his own heart. When the trailer launched, I didn’t know that he was posting it, and when I saw the caption, it was so heartwarming. When a person who grooms and teaches you, when he says something nice about you… har Arjun apne Dronacharya se compliment he lena chahta hai (every Arjun wants a compliment from his Dronacharya). It doesn’t come from a space of you are my brother-in-law, it comes from a space of you are my student. That appreciation is very close to my heart.” While giving Aayush's Ruslaan a shout-out, Salman took to his Instagram and dropped the trailer of the film with a cute caption. While dropping the trailer, Salman wrote, "Aayush, can see the hard work, effort, and dedication put into Ruslaan, no matter what just keep giving it your best. Hard work will always pay off. God bless and wish you all the best. Roaring in cinemas on 26th April 2024."           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) Further in the conversation, when asked about what misconceptions people have about the Loveyatri actor, Aayush shared that people think the Khan family decides everything for him, which is untrue. The actor said, “That I don’t have brains of my own and that everything is decided by the Khan family and that is not the truth. They love me.” About the Khan Family The Khan family has been dominating headlines recently after two unidentified men opened fire in front of Salman's Galaxy apartment.

Ranveer Singh, Prashanth Varma and Aditya Dhar

Have you heard? Win some, lose some

It appears that Ranveer Singh’s wish of teaming up with a director from the south film industry is materialising. His talks with Hanu-Man director Prashanth Varma are moving in the right direction. The filmmaker is said to have offered Ranveer a period film set against the backdrop of Indian mythology. The Simmba star is reportedly sold on the director’s ambitious project. Their teams are working out the modalities, and have simultaneously initiated talks with studios to back their magnum opus. On the other hand, Ranveer’s collaboration with director Aditya Dhar has been delayed. Industry sources claim that the studio backing the yet-untitled action thriller asked the filmmaker to downsize the budget. Apparently, the studio bosses feel that the streaming market has seen a downturn in the past two years and the digital rights aren’t attracting huge monies as they did before. Production will begin after Aditya reworks the budget accordingly.  In Parliament Pics/Instagram Ayushmann Khurrana recently visited the new Parliament building. He was impressed by the architecture that integrates the most unique elements of India’s heritage with sculptures from different parts of the country. “I will never forget this day and the enriching experience. The Parliament is representative of the people of our country. So, it was a proud moment for me to walk around the haloed premises and learn so much about it,” he said, honoured by the guided visit. Ayushmann added, “It is a sight to behold as it also showcases the amazing heritage, cultural history and the brilliant craftsmanship of India.”  Release after the elections Initially slated to release on May 3, Vikrant Massey and Raashii Khanna’s The Sabarmati Report has reportedly been deferred. Director Ranjan Chandel’s drama revolves around two journalists investigating the burning of the Sabarmati Express at Godhra on February 27, 2002. Besides conveying their objections to certain scenes, the Examining Committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) also expressed their apprehensions that the film’s release could be seen as interfering with the model code of conduct as laid down by the Election Commission. They suggested the makers release the film after the last phase of polls on June 1.  Cameo calling Akshay Kumar is foraying into south cinema now. Actor-filmmaker Vishnu Manchu broke the news on social media with a video, saying, “The #Kannappa journey just got more thrilling as we welcome the superstar, Akshay Kumar to the Telugu film industry. Thrilled to announce his debut in Telugu cinema with Kannappa. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure!” Prabhas and Mohanlal also have cameos in the movie.  Play more, grow more When he is not shooting, Amit Sadh is cycling across the country or riding superbikes in international destinations. His love for sports is well-known. To encourage more youngsters to pursue sports professionally, the actor is joining hands with Stairs Foundation, a national sports promotion organisation. Amit begins his association with the foundation’s Youth National Games in Delhi that will be held later this month and will see over 5,000 gold medalists participate from over 460 districts. Amit says, “This is just the beginning. Together, we aim to empower and uplift the youth of our nation, fostering self-reliance and strength.” Aaja nach le mid-day was the first to report that Madhuri Dixit-Nene had been roped in for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, joining forces with Vidya Balan, the original Manjulika from the first instalment (When Mads meets Manjulika, February 13). Now, we hear that a dance-off between the two powerhouse performers is being planned for the upcoming schedule of the Anees Bazmee-directed horror comedy. Apparently, a new version of the song, Ami je tomar, is being created. If things go as per plans, the two actors could be shooting for the song next month. Sources claim that the track appears at a critical juncture, adding a twist in the narrative. It is not yet clear if lead actor Kartik Aaryan will also feature in the track.  To new beginnings On the occasion of International Women’s Day last month, Huma Qureshi announced her next, Gulabi. Based on a true story, Vipul Mehta’s directorial venture showcases the courage of an autorickshaw driver, who not only became the beacon of change, but also inspired women to reclaim their destinies. On Monday, Vishal Rana’s production went on floors in Ahmedabad. Sharing pictures from the location, Huma wrote, “Gulabi is here! Filming now.” In his post, Vishal said, “It’s time to roll up our sleeves and bring this vision to life. Let’s make magic happen on screen!”

Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar

Cops & Co ready for one big party

Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again has many things going for it. Among them is the star-studded cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh, who play the other two super cops in his cop universe, will also be seen in cameos in Singham franchise’s third instalment. Understandably, the filmmaker is making the most of this enviable cast by bringing them together in a peppy dance number. We’ve heard that beginning today, the actors will shoot an elaborate song at a Vile Parle set. Originally, the shoot was to commence on April 15. A source says, “But now, it kicks off on April 17. Ganesh Acharya is choreographing it, and has hired 400 background dancers. The primary cast will film the vibrant number over the next four days. However, Deepika, who is among the newest entrants in the cop verse, might give it a miss.” Shetty has been shooting the action fare’s last leg in Golden Tobacco Factory, but he has had the production team build a separate grand set for this song.
