Sam Pitroda Controversy: CM Yogi Slams Pitroda's 'Racist' Remarks

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath blamed the Congress for the 1947 partition and accused them of consistently dividing the nation along caste, regional, and linguistic lines in response to Sam Pitroda's controversial remarks about people's appearances in different parts of India.Expanding his remarks, he suggested that the Congress party should apologise to the country for what Sam Pitroda said. It shows the dangerous mindset of the Congress party, he added.“Congress is responsible for the partition in 1947, it is responsible for the horrors of partition. Even after the independence, it has committed the sin of dividing the country in the name of caste, region, and language. Sam Pitroda's remark is highly condemnable. Congress party should apologise to the country for the things it is making Sam Pitroda say...This shows the dangerous mindset of Congress. It is highly condemnable”, said Yogi Adityanath.

Sam Pitroda Quits Congress Post Racist Slur Controversy

Sam Pitroda has quit as the chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress amid a huge political row over his controversial racist remarks. The decision has been accepted by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The announcement about Mr Pitroda came in a terse post on X from the party's communications-in-charge Jairam Ramesh.  For the unversed, Sam Pitroda, in a podcast while describing the diversity of India, had said that the “people in the east look like the Chinese, people in the west look like the Arabs, people in the north look like, maybe, white and people in the south look like Africans.” This remark by Sam Pitroda created a controversial storm all over social media. Big politicians have been bashing Pitroda over his racist remark. PM Modi also slammed Pitroda over his  racist slur. Other BJP leaders also came forward to bash Pitroda. US President makes controversial remarks on India and Pak, White House defends

US President Joe Biden’s “xenophobia” comment on May 01 at a fundraiser campaign triggered a diplomatic row. US President said “xenophobia” from China, India, and Japan is stopping the economic growth of these countries. President Joe Biden made this controversial remark while advocating for the US immigration policy. He said, “Folks, this election is about freedom, America, and democracy.  That’s why I badly need you. You know, one of the reasons why our economy is growing is because of you and many others.  Why?  Because we welcome immigrants.  We look to — the reason — look, think about it.  Why is China stalling so badly economically?  Why is Japan having trouble?  Why is Russia?  Why is India?  Because they’re xenophobic.  They don’t want immigrants.”  The remarks, from Joe Biden came after The White House hosted Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida for a State visit. Notably, The White House welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a state visit last summer. However, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre defended President Biden’s statement. She said that the President’s comments were part of a broader message emphasising the strength of America's immigrant heritage. Our allies and partners know very well how much this President respects them...He was making a broad comment speaking about this (US) country, speaking about how important it is to be a country of immigrants and how it makes our country stronger. Notably, The US will go to polls later this year, and country's economy, immigration are the top issues for voters.

The Supreme Court on 4th of March slammed Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin over his "eradicate Sanantan Dharma" remark. Stalin’s lawyer moved the Apex Court seeking clubbing of multiple FIRs registered against him in several states. Slamming Stalin, the Supreme Court said that the leader abused his right to “freedom of speech.” Supreme Court adjourned DMK Minister’s plea for its next hearing on March 15. NCP-Sharad Pawar faction leader Jitendra Awhad on January 04 expressed regret over his statement that Lord Rama was not a vegetarian. Jitendra Awhad said, "I express regret. I did not want to hurt anyone's sentiments." In a speech, Jitendra Awhad claimed that 'Lord Ram was non-vegetarian'. On Wednesday, addressing party workers in Shirdi, Awhad said, “We don’t read history and forget everything in politics. Ram is ours. Of us Bahujans. Who used to hunt to eat… Ram was never a vegetarian. He was a non-vegetarian. How can a man who lived in the jungle for 14 years remain a vegetarian?” Soon after the 'Lord Ram was non-vegetarian' remark went viral, there were protests against the leader.
