On Saturday, a fire broke out at a private hospital in Mumbai's Kandivali. The officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade said that the fire had broken out at Wins Hospital located in Ashish Kesar CHS on New Link Road in Kandivali West today.

The officials said that they swiftly responded to the call and other emergency services were also mobilised.

When the fire was first reported at 1:48 PM, it was limited to the central air conditioning unit's electric wiring, electric installation, and compressor at the hospital's rear. The facility is a multi-story structure with 30 floors, three podiums, and a stilt.

Adani Electricity, 108 ambulance services, MFB, and the police arrived on the spot quite quickly. The fire was effectively put out by 2:05 PM, preventing more damage.

However, according to Dr Trupti of New Wins Hospital in Borivali, the incident caused injuries to four people. Following various degrees of burns, Sunil (35), Rajdeo (35), Narendra Murya (45), and Swadhin Mukhi (56), were admitted to the hospital right away. Murya and Sunil had superficial burns; Mukhi and Rajdeo had burns ranging from 15 per cent to 40 per cent. The doctor added that the two were in stable condition.

Authorities are currently looking into what caused the fire.
