A 25-year-old YouTuber arrested in Rajasthan has no links with the Bishnoi gang, the Mumbai Crime Branch confirmed. Officials determined that he issued threats solely to gain views on YouTube and his other social media profiles to earn money. Gujjar had issued threats to Salman Khan in a YouTube video, claiming he would kill Khan on the highway along with members of the Bishnoi gang on May 13, and was arrested by the Crime Branch’s anti-extortion cell on Sunday. According to the Crime Branch, the accused, Banwarilal Gujjar, a graduate from Rajasthan’s Hindoli district, wanted to become famous on YouTube and other social media platforms. He studied the algorithm to gain more views and make his YouTube channel, ‘Are Chhodo Yaar,’ popular. “He created multiple email IDs and attempted to make his YouTube channel famous by issuing threats to Salman Khan, posing as a member of the Bishnoi gang. He was also prepared for his account to be blocked and was, ready to create a new account using the pre-made email IDs,” an officer said.

The official stated that Gujjar was unaware he could be arrested for issuing threats to Salman Khan on social media. When the police arrived, he was surprised and confessed that he was doing it solely for views. Despite this, the police decided to investigate further and arrested him. “We have confirmed that he has no links with the Bishnoi gang, but we will closely monitor him and his social media activities,” said an officer.
