Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik in Kaagaz 2

Nearly a year after we lost actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik, his last film 'Kagaaz 2' is all set to release. While audiences view it as Kaushik's last film, his close friend and actor Anupam Kher who is also the lead in 'Kaagaz 2' refuses to feel the same.

"I don't see it as Satish's last film. The best part of cinema is that it remains for 1000 years. Dileep (Kumar) saab's last film must be there physically but you can see it anytime. So, it's a new film. It is my way of looking at it. The special thing about the film is its subject and that will remain. The audience should come to see it because it is not Satish's last film but it is one of his best films. As you can make out from the trailer, it is about how protests can turn somebody's life upside down. Today we can make movies like this as there is an audience who goes to see movies like these and make it into a big hit. I do say hit in the sense numbers do make a difference and I am sure that people who give reviews will also look from that point of view. He was very passionate about the subject so because of his earlier film 'Kaagaz' with Pankaj Tripathi about a man who was proclaimed dead. He was very sensitive about that film not releasing in theatres. Satish was a larger than life person. Not only in his size but in his thoughts also. I can afford to make a joke about him. It is also about relationship, music, it is a special film in so many ways.

Darshan Kumaar who plays an IMA-trained officer in the film says that the film has many layers to it. "The story is the hero of the film. The film talks about today's youth, major issues of rallies, it talks about modern families and how kids suffer from divorces, father-son relationship, and mother-son bond. It is a full package of emotions, drama, and social message".

'Kaagaz 2' will be released in theatres on March 1 and also stars Neena Gupta and Smriti Kalra in pivotal roles.
