Aditya Rawal who has worked in two films and a web series talks about his choices as an actor and the involvement of his star parents in his decision making

Aditya Rawal is an Indian actor and writer who has done extensive work in the theatre space. Unlike many star kids, Aditya, the son of Paresh Rawal and Swaroop Sampat had a rather quiet debut in the industry. IN 2020, young Rawal made his debut with the film Bamfaad opposite Shalini Pandey. Owing to the pandemic, the film was released directly on OTT. Since then he has been seen in Faraaz and in a special role in the recently released series 'Bambai Meri Jaan'.
Aditya Rawal who started off with a romantic action film explored a biographical thriller in the second and then a gangster drama set in 60s and 70s of Mumbai in his third project, got the opportunity to portray his versatility in a very short period of time. Ask him if his background as a playwriter influences his choices as an actor, Rawal says, "I try to put my writer hat aside when I am sort of playing the role of an actor. But I am sure the understanding of script and character that I have as a writer helps me with my acting and vice versa. I am sure there is something to it in that sense. I just like to make sure that I am challenging myself and the folks that I am working with are good folks to work with and I have enough to bite into. That's really what I am looking at and whether it is a story that I would want to watch, read or be a part of. I think that is chief among all. I am glad it seems to have been paid off until now."

While Rawal is carving his own path in the industry as an actor, he also seeks advice from his star parents who have decades of experience behind them, "I do seek their advice for most situations but I am also trying to follow my own instincts; we may agree and disagree about things. As far as the things I have done, they really approve of it. There are some things I have not done that they feel that maybe I should have done for one reason or another. But I can only listen to my own instincts. while of course relying on them for their guidance and advice, I do that a lot but I eventually listen to myself."
