Priyanka Chopra's former NYC restaurant 'SONA' to shut down after 3 years

Sharing the closure news on Instagram, SONA's statement read, "After more than three remarkable years, SONA will be closing. We are immensely grateful to everyone who walked through our doors. It has been our greatest honour to serve you. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated team who offered delicious food, smiles, and warmth every day. SONA's final service will be brunch on Sunday, June 30th. We hope to see you one last time for a meal or a drink. Our doors and hearts are open." The luxurious homeware brand, SONA Home will also be shutting shop on the same day.            View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by SONA (@sonanewyork) Many loyal customers of the restaurant took to the comment section to express their disappointment and sadness at the restaurant shutting shop.  Maneesh K. Goyal also shared a reflective note on his Instagram handle. "A while back, I chose to let fulfillment guide my path. I aspired to live a life and pursue work that felt liberating and genuine; this motivation has been my guiding light. It hasn't always been smooth sailing (and sometimes doesn't come as naturally as it might seem), but I persevere. It's shaped me into the risk-taker and dream-chaser I am today. That's why I took on something as seemingly improbable as opening a restaurant - my first-ever venture in my mid-40s, amidst a pandemic, in the heart of New York," a part of his statement read, closing with heartfelt gratitude, "From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who helped bring this dream to life." Back in 2021, Priyanka took to her social media handle to make the announcement of her new restaurant along with pictures. “I’m thrilled to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into. SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavours I grew up with. The kitchen is helmed by the incredible Chef #HariNayak, a masterful talent, who has created the most delicious and innovative menu, taking you on a food journey through my amazing country. SONA is opening later this month, and I can’t wait to see you there!” Priyanka had tweeted.

She also shared the post of director Hansal Mehta on her Instagram Stories. Hansal had reviewed the film on his Instagram account and wrote: "Imtiaz Ali has been somebody i've known from before any of us made our first films. I loved Jab We Met and Rockstar. I'm not a crazy fan like so many others. Honest admission - I envied his drop dead good looks and craze among women. I've also envied his most forgiving fandom among those who loved his recurring themes and films. More on that some other day. He further wrote, "His latest (his best) #CHAMKILA is not a film. It is an experience. Imtiaz has outdone himself and raced past his own filmography with a film for the ages. The film is magical, audacious, musical, lyrical, poetic, romantic, raunchy, angry, rebellious, hard and soft - sometimes all of these all at once. It is a feat, his best work and perhaps the performance of the year from @diljitdosanjh. This one's a true blue modern Indian musical from @imtiazaliofficial and @arrahman. Kudos to the cinematographer @sylvesterfonseca for the beautiful visuals, to my old colleague and friend @artb for the complex yet coherent edit. To the writers Imtiaz and Sajid. To the wizard @kamil_irshad_official for those masterly lyrics. Also shout out to @parineetichopra - her fine performance sadly won't be celebrated enough but this one's truly her finest. And once again @castingchhabra has outdone himself. Thank you @netflix_in @monika__shergill @ruchikaakapoor @mochou05 for backing this cinematic event. Will watch this at least a few more times. This one's meant to be savoured." Parineeti is yet to announce her new project. This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies. As the chef shared his amazing recipe, he also discussed some interesting anecdotes about his life—from when he decided to become a chef, the time he got scolded by his mom, and more. Harpal Singh started the conversation by sharing that he never knew being a chef was a job. He joined a hotel management course with the intent to get a job. "In our time, I'll tell you honestly, I didn't have a choice in my career. I was the youngest in the family. So, what happened was my brother asked me to do a skill course. Because of that, I joined IHM. My neighbour had done IHM and got a job quickly. I thought this course was good because you can get a job quickly. After joining, I found out that in IHM (Hotel Management), there is a stream called Chef, within Hotel Management, which you can choose. And I chose it with the intent to get a job," Singh shared. Further in the conversation, when we asked him if he ever got scold for making something a certain way, he shared a fun story: "Once, my father said, 'We don't have that much money to go to 5-star hotels and eat. Why don't you cook something at home and feed us? Something that even we feel is 5-star hotel food.' I replied, 'Yes, of course, I'll feed you.' At that time, I had just left hotel management. In the first year, I was working as a trainee cook at Oberoi's. I told them, 'I'll cook and feed you.' So I started cooking. After a long time, my father told me, 'It is Sunday, you entered the kitchen at 11, it's already 1, where is your food?' I replied, '5-star hotel food takes time to cook.' After a long time, I filled a big bowl with paneer makhni and put it on the table. It was almost two hours. Then my father said, 'It's okay, but with what will we eat it?' I replied, 'I didn't make anything else.' Then my mom said, 'Don't come into my kitchen until you become a good chef.'" While the former Miss Earth is impeccable in front of the camera, she is equally a foodie by heart. Right from cooking to relishing her meals no matter the place or occasion, to making sure her chai and coffee are always on point, she is one bonafide babe in the kitchen and means serious business when it comes to every morsel that passes through her mouth.  In 2015, she told ETimes that she is an ardent lover of Indian and Tibetan food. For comfort, she picks Indian sweets made out of jaggery. Her ideal breakfast comprises French toast with sausages and tea.  She said, "Dishing out healthy and tasty food for my friends is my favourite hobby now. Healthy food is very essential, to keep fit. I'm a protein enthusiast, as it forms the foundation of our nutrition. Exploring new tastes is fun. I enjoy experimenting with food, and dish out innovative food items as well." In 2022, Sobhita conducted an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram which mainly revolved around her food habits. When asked about her favourite cuisine she replied with Telugu and Tamil food, given that she hails from Andhra Pradesh. Dino Morea’s summer fitness secrets: 'My meals are home-cooked'

Actor Dino Morea, who was recently seen in the Malayalam film ‘Bandra’, has shared insights into his fitness regimen and how he powers through the terrible Mumbai summer which peaks in the month of May. The actor told IANS that he focuses 50-60 per cent on weight training and mixes it up with sports to leverage the cardio. He said: “My weight training is 3-4 days a week. For me, cardio is about playing a sport and that would be two days a week.” Dino said that he focuses on maintaining the electrolyte balance in summer as the body tends to lose electrolytes during workouts. He told IANS: “For the summer, because it is really hot and humid, I make it a point to have more electrolytes because you tend to lose out on electrolytes when you workout. With regard to the diet, I’m fairly consistent with what I eat. My meals are home-cooked, lighter in nature and more vegetarian.” Recently, the actor installed fitness stations in Mumbai at public places which people of the city can access free of cost. The actor described the initiative as a way of giving back to the city. Sharing the inspiration behind installing fitness stations, he said that he wanted people to have a place which they can access publicly and stay fit. The actor told IANS: “Whenever I used to go for a walk or a run on the streets of Mumbai, because that’s the only space you have given the space crunch in the city, all one could do was run, skip or walk. The streets never really had anything for functional training. When you travel abroad, you see a lot of such stations in public places. I thought why not have something here as well.” The actor came up with the design all by himself, sought permission, and raised money for it. “I went about designing, and tried to figure out how to get permission. Got the permission, I raised money, and set it up, all on my own, nothing from anybody else, and publicly free of cost,” he added. Talking about hydration, Dino said: “Hydration is the most important thing along with electrolytes. I drink 4-5 litres of water a day. Take plain water, add a bit of Himalayan pink salt. It makes a huge difference.” This story has been sourced from a third party syndicated feed, agencies.
