Sunteck Realty Supports "Project Lajja" to Empower Girls with Menstrual Hygiene

Sunteck Realty, a leading luxury real estate developer, joined hands with Making The Difference NGO today to empower 60 girls from MBMC School 34 in Mira Road, Mumbai, Maharashtra, through "Project Lajja," a menstrual health awareness initiative.


The session was attended by Arka Sengupta, Prashant Rajhans, Saurav Kumar from Sunteck Realty, and Mr Deepak Vishwakarma from Making The Difference NGO.


The session covered topics such as menstruation and menstrual health, pain management, myths and facts surrounding periods, the importance of menstrual hygiene and reproductive health, menstrual products and their disposal, and healthy interaction with the opposite sex.


Empowering Girls through Sustainable Solutions:

Following the session, with the support of Sunteck Realty, Project Lajja distributed reusable sanitary pad kits to the participating girls. These kits, containing four pads each, are designed to last for up to a year, providing a sustainable and cost-effective solution for menstrual hygiene management.

Project Lajja's Impact:

Project Lajja has already reached over 15,600 girls and women across four states in India, namely Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh. Through its collaboration with Sunteck Realty, the project aims to impact 1,000 girls in the Mumbai suburbs of Kalyan, Mira Road, and Vasai. This initiative will distribute 4,000 reusable cloth pads and help divert approximately 1,20,000 disposable pads from landfills, promoting environmental sustainability.

By providing reusable sanitary pads and education on menstrual health, Project Lajja is empowering girls to manage their periods with dignity and confidence, contributing to their overall well-being and education.

This initiative aligns with Sunteck Realty's commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by promoting awareness of menstrual hygiene and empowering girls with the resources they need to manage their periods confidently.
