Gaganpreet Aka Pitbull Boxing His Way Through The Peek-A-Boo Technique

In the realm of boxing, where fighters strive to stand out with their unique styles and techniques, Gaganpreet Sharma has emerged as a true maverick. Being a solitary warrior in the country who has embraced and mastered the art of Peek-a-boo boxing, he has made sure that his skills set him apart. Peek-a-boo is a unique fighting technique taught by the legendary coach Cus D’Amato to GOATs like Mike Tyson. For Gaganpreet, this unique fighting style has become his trademark and a testament to his unwavering commitment to his craft. His Instagram account, where he shares glimpses of his training and glimpses of his victories, boasts an impressive following of around 47K passionate fans, eagerly awaiting his every move in and out of the ring.

Gaganpreet’s journey began in the amateur circuit, where he quickly rose to prominence. In his first few years, he became a state-level champion and claimed several medals in various competitions. He was successful in securing multiple Bronze and Silver medals in various Intercollege and state championships. In 2013-14, he also won a Gold in the Inter College Boxing Championship, showcasing his exceptional skills. He has been a part of over 78 fights in his Amateur Circuit and was a three-time consecutive intercollege champion. He recently took his dream of pursuing professional boxing a step ahead in Las Vegas and currently holds the record of 11 wins with a single loss.

A victim of bullying in his childhood, Gaganpreet faced deeply dark times. He felt constantly singled out and ridiculed as an introverted child. However, he found his strength and solace in the squared circle of boxing. Instead of succumbing to despair, he turned to the enigmatic sport of boxing as a means to overcome the pain. Through discipline and rigorous training, Gaganpreet transformed himself physically and mentally, using boxing as a canvas to redefine his identity. His experiences of bullying fueled his ambition, propelling him forward with determination. Gaganpreet aspires for his narrative to serve as an inspiration to others who may be undergoing similar circumstances, encouraging them to explore their own methods of coping and persistently pursuing their dreams.

Even after displaying remarkable potential, no coach in India recognized Gagan’s talent. It was only when Joe Clough's discerning eye found him in a boxing trial in Pune that things turned around for him. Impressed by his remarkable knockout performances, Clough wasted no time in selecting him as a protégé and training him in the formidable Peek-a-Boo style. Clough's unwavering belief in Sharma's abilities was evident from the beginning, with Clough even declaring in a media interview that Sharma had the potential to be India's next Mayweather. Since transitioning to the professional realm in 2015 under Clough's guidance, Sharma has established himself as a formidable presence in the boxing ring. Going further, he aspires to be a world champion in the sport.
