This shows that the entire Andhra Pradesh is with PM Modi and Chandrababu Naidu. NDA alliance is going to sweep (elections) here. INDI alliance will not even get a single seat in Andhra Pradesh”, said Amit Shah.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested three Indian nationals in connection with Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s murder. Soon after the arrest, diplomatic tensions intensified between India and Canada over Khalistani terrorist’s murder. Day after Indians were arrested, EAM Jaishankar talked tough over recent developments in Sikh separatist’s murder case. Turning the tables, EAM said that there’s nothing to fear as if something happened in Canada, it is for them to worry about. Attacking further, Jaishankar accused Canada of giving space to extremism, separatism in the name of “free speech”. EAM Jaishankar also slammed Ottawa for being silent on threats to Indian diplomats. Notably, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was a designated terrorist in India, was also a pro-Khalistan leader. Earlier, Canada accused India of alleged involvement in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. However, the Canadian Police has not given any evidence of link to India’s involvement in the killing of Nijjar.

Three Indian men were arrested in Canada on May 03 in connection with Hardeep Singh Nijjar. After the arrest, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made first comments related to the case. He said that Canada is a rule-of-law country with a strong and independent justice system, CBC reported. Notably, Justin Trudeau had earlier raised allegations of India’s involvement in Nijjar’s killing. India’s MEA had vehemently rejected Trudeau’s claims and called them “absurd”. Just after the arrests were made, Trudeau’s ally and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh took to ‘X’ and claimed of India’s involvement in the case. “The Indian government hired assassins to murder a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil - at a place of worship. Today 3 arrests were made. Let me be clear - any Indian agent or state actor that ordered, planned or carried out this murder must be exposed and met with the full force of Canadian law. For Canada, democracy and free speech - there must be Justice for Hardeep Singh Nijjar,” Jagmeet Singh wrote. Though he made claims against the Indian government, the Canadian Police has said that investigation in the matter is still underway. Notably, Jagmeet’s NDP has supported the Liberal minority government led by Trudeau in exchange for support on some key bills. New Democratic Party’s leader Jagmeet Singh is a pro-Khalistani and is known for his anti-India stand.

Slamming Pakistan over continuous cross-border terrorism, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on May 04 said that the neighbour will get an appropriate response adding that the Modi government will never make a compromise with the national security. Addressing an event in Bhubaneshwar, S Jaishankar said, “When it comes to national security, the Modi government will never make a compromise, it can be cross-border terrorism from Pakistan, it can be pressure on the border from China. It can be terrorism we had in the past from the Myanmar border before we did the land boundary agreement, even from Bangladesh.”

An Indian Air Force convoy was attacked by the terrorists in the Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir on May 04. According to the officials, five personnel were injured and one of them lost life. Soon after the attack, Rashtriya Rifles unit cordoned off the area and massive search operations were carried out. An Indian Air Force convoy was attacked by terrorists in the Poonch district of J&K on May 04. As per the officials, 5 IAF personnel suffered injury in the attack and have been airlifted to the Command Hospital in Udhampur for further treatment.Soon after the attack, Rashtriya Rifles started cordoning off the area, search operations in Sanai area near Jarran Wali Gali (JWG) Poonch, in Surankot. India on May 02 lodged a strong protest against the reports of Chinese activities in Shaksgam Valley situated in POK. Shooting down media reports of ‘construction activities by China in Shaksgam Valley’ MEA said that It is a part of India. MEA further said that New Delhi never accepted the China-Pakistan boundary agreement of 1963. The issue of Shaksgam Valley comes amid the India-China border dispute along the Line of Actual Control. Indian and Chinese soldiers came at a loggerhead at friction points in eastern Ladakh in 2020 at LAC. The Shaksgam Valley, or the Trans Karakoram Tract is a strategically key region is part of the Hunza-Gilgit Region of PoK. It is bordered by the Xinjiang Province of China to the north, the northern areas of PoK to its west, south & Siachen Glacier region to the east. The Shaksgam Valley was ceded to China by Pakistan in 1963 when both countries signed a boundary pact to settle their differences.
