Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Phase 5: Key Constituencies & Candidates

After completing the initial four phases, the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 are now gearing up for the fifth round. Scheduled for May 20, this phase will see voters in six states and two Union Territories heading to the polls across 49 constituencies. In this phase, voting will take place across 5 seats in Bihar, 1 seat in Jammu & Kashmir, 3 seats in Jharkhand, 1 seat in Ladakh, 13 seats in Maharashtra, 5 seats in Odisha, 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, and 7 seats in West Bengal. BJP Candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha Seat Kangana Ranaut held a press conference on May 18 and took a dig at Bollywood and alleged that nobody took a stand during URI attack and continued to collaborate with the artists from Pakistan. Answering to press questions over her ‘people of Bollywood have thinking like Pakistan’comment’, she said, “When Indian soldiers were killed during URI attack, nobody from Bollywood speak. Above that they were collaborating with the artists of Pakistan. Is it the only responsibility of soldiers to sacrifice for the country? That time only I raised my voice and demanded a ban on Pakistani artists. There are very few people who make movies like ‘URI- The surgical strike’ and ‘Manikarnika’. To function in a Khan-dominated industry with ‘sanatani’ thinking is a very rare sight.
