Arvind Kejriwal Bail: Ex-Pakistan Minister Fawad Chaudhry says ‘good news’

Former Pakistan Minister Fawad Chaudhry reacted to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Bail. Fawad Chaudhry termed it a loss of 'another battle' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chaudhry’s response comes after Kejriwal was released from jail after spending over 50 days following his arrest.Kejriwal was arrested by ED on March 21, 2024 in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. He has been granted interim bail till June 1 in Delhi Excise policy case with several conditions. Supreme Court barred him from visiting the Chief Minister’s Office or signing any official files. Former Pakistan Minister Fawad Chaudhry on May 04 praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He also praised Rahul Gandhi over Sam Pitroda’s pitch to conduct a Wealth Redistribution survey. Pakistan’s economy is in the doldrums but top leaders are engaged in India’s internal Affairs.

Supreme Court grants Interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

On May 10, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal until June 1. He is required to surrender on June 2. The court did not accept his lawyer, Abhishek Manu Singhvi's, request to extend the bail until June 4. Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate as part of a money laundering investigation linked to alleged irregularities in the scrapped Delhi excise policy for 2021-22.

Akhand Bharat Mural Debate Intensifies In Pakistan

Amid Lok Sabha Elections in India, the debate on the ‘Akhand Bharat’ mural displayed in the New Parliament building, reignited in Pakistan. The mural depicting ‘Akhand Bharat’ highlighted security concerns among India’s neighbouring countries. Pakistani Journo, Foreign Expert, International Expert alleged that India wants to claim the territories of all neighbouring countries. Pakistani-based Advocate, International Law Expert, Ahmer Bilal Soofi, emphasised the need for countries to respond to ‘India’s posturing’. Meanwhile, Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir questioned the world’s silence over the mural depicting ‘Akhand Bharat’. He further asked, “Do Pakistan and other countries have any remaining international platforms where they can express their security concerns?”. During the debate, former Pakistani diplomat, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry stated that a diplomatic protest is necessary. Notably, soon after the mural in India’s New Parliament made headlines for reportedly depicting ‘Akhand Bharat’ i.e., ‘United India’. The controversy around the mural was clarified, stating that it depicted the Ashokan Empire of Ancient India.

Bomb Threat In Delhi: Delhi Police's Special Cell registers FIR

Nearly 100 schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threats via email on May 1, warning them of bombs on their premises, Police have initiated search operations following the alerts. Initial investigations suggest multiple Delhi schools have received similar emails of bomb threat in Delhi. Meanwhile, Delhi Government’s Directorate of Education has issueed advisory to schools after the hoax call directing the school authorities to inform immediately to the concerned DDE  and the Delhi Police. According to details, the probe will be done by the Counter Intelligence Team Special Cell. Meanwhile, IFSO unit is also trying to find out the origin from where the mail was sent, added the agency, saying, the connection to Russia – IP address – has been revealed. Apart from this, the probing agency is also probing the angle of joint conspiracy between China and ISI.

Bomb Threat In Delhi: Students evacuated from schools

Multiple schools across the Delhi-NCR received bomb threats on May 01 via e-mail. Bomb detection teams and Delhi Fire Service officials have been rushed to the schools after bomb threat in Delhi. Several schools vacated and students were evacuated following the bomb threat mails. The schools include DPS Dwarka, DPS Noida, Sanskriti School Chanakyapuri, and Mother Mary School, Mayur Vihar. Delhi Police said that the mail is being traced and appealed to students, parents “not to panic”. School authorities also quickly responded and sent the students back to their homes. Fire Officer JB Singh reached Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar and said that the teams did not find anything.

"We got information that the same email was sent to several schools at around 4:15 am. We took action and made the decision to close the schools and send the students back home. Checking is underway at all the schools and our technical wing is investigating the email. Through the initial investigation, it seems that this is a mass email...I want to request the students and parents to remain calm and not to panic. We are getting each and every school checked and are in contact with the school administration..."

India Criticizes Canada Over Khalistani Slogans

 India on April 29 lodged a strong protest against the ‘Pro-Khalistan’ slogans raised during the Khalsa Day celebration in Canada. Lodging a strong protest, MEA summoned the Canadian Deputy High Commissioner in New Delhi. India’s action came after loud chants of ‘Pro-Khalistan’ slogans were raised in the presence of Canadian PM Justin Trudeau. The incident comes amid a sharp rise in anti-India sentiment in Canada in recent times. Reacting to the incident, MEA added that such incidents “illustrate political space given in Canada to separatism, extremism, violence”. Relations between India-Canada deteriorated after PM Trudeau alleged India’s role in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Nijjar. Following Trudeau’s allegation, India summoned the High Commissioner and expelled a senior diplomat. India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar earlier had said ‘Khalistani forces have been given a lot of space in Canadian politics’.

Delhi Icecream Vendor Murder: 25 Year Old Brutally Killed Near India Gate

On 24th of April, a gruesome murder took place near India Gate, New Delhi. A 25-year-old ice cream vendor named Prabhakar was stabbed to death during a fight near India Gate late Wednesday evening. A case of murder was registered under Section 302 IPC. The preliminary investigation suggests that Prabhat was selling ice cream when he had an argument with a customer over payment. The matter escalated and the accused stabbed Prabhat with a knife, before running away from the crime spot. Prabhat rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by the doctors. The police arrested the accused, who was on the run after identifying him with the assistance of CCTV cameras installed in nearby shops. He has been brought to the police station for further information.
