Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi passed away on May 13. The 72-year-old senior BJP leader passed away at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. He was battling cancer for the last seven months. He was suffering from urinary bladder cancer metastasis. Modi was at the last stage of cancer. He announced his treatment last month and did not participate in the Lok Sabha Election Campaign. Sushil Kumar Modi who was born on 5th January 1952 was a lifelong member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). His mortal remains will be brought to his residence in Patna and his last rites will be performed on 14th May. PM Modi expressed grief for the loss of his valuable colleague and friend through a post on X. Home Minister Amit Shah also condoled the demise of the BJP leader through a post on X. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also grieved the loss of Sushil Kumar Modi. BJP leader JP Nadda also extended his condolences.

While addressing a public rally in Bihar’s Hajipur, Prime Minister Modi heaped praises on Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan. He said, When Chirag came to the Parliament for the first time, I only knew he is the son of Ram Vilasji. But, in his behaviour, he didn’t have any arrogance of being the son of Ram Vilasji. PM Modi on 13th of May visited Gurudwara Patna Sahib where he offered prayers and participated in serving food to devotees. He performed Sewa at Gurudwara Patna Sahib In Bihar. This comes amid the fourth phase of polling in the Lok Sabha elections. Eyeing on the remaining 26 seats in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a 2-day visit to the state. The Indian Prime Minister performed ‘seva’ and served langar from a steel bucket at Gurudwara Patna Sahib in Bihar. In the video PM Modi can be seen wearing a saffron turban and serving langar. Prime Minister Modi also lent his hands to the Gurdwara management in cooking food for the langar. In 2019, BJP-led NDA swept Bihar by winning 39 out of 40 seats, while Congress won just one seat. RJD, a formidable force in the state failed to open its account.

Amid the Lok Sabha Elections, former Congress spokesperson Radhika Khera joined the BJP on May 07. Famous actor Shekhar Suman also joined the BJP in New Delhi. They joined the BJP in the presence of General Secretary Vinod Tawde and Anil Baluni. Radhika Khera quit Congress alleging “abuse by top leadership”. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar vowed to remain in BJP-led alliance in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Bihar’s Jamui on April 04. Pappu’s Yadav merged his Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) with Congress on March 20 ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 06 launched a scathing attack on RJD in Bihar, saying that when "Jungle Raj" came to the state, migration increased and the future of lakhs of students of the state was put at stake. Addressing a rally here as part of BJP’s preparations for the Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi said it is essential for Bihar to be developed for "Viksit Bharat" and the NDA government in the state has given speed to development works. Referring to the Rashtriya Janata Dal government that ruled Bihar for about 14 years between 1990 and 2005, PM Modi said that "one family prospered" and youth had to go out of state to earn their livelihood. "How lands were grabbed in lieu of jobs. The challenge of outward migration increased during the Jungle Raj, those who brought jungle raj only cared about their family," he said.

Lalu Yadav’s remarks during the Jan Vishwas Rally sparked controversy on March 03. While addressing the rally Lalu Yadav went on to question PM Modi’s religion.He said, “Who is Narendra Modi?
