The nation is in a rage after the murder of Neha Hiremath, daughter of a Congress Councillor in Hubbali. MoS Shobha Karandlaje and BJP Mahila Morcha held a protest against Hubbali murder case in Bengaluru. A candle march was taken out by the protestors in memory of Neha. Congress Councillor’s daughter Neha Hiremath (24) was stabbed to death on college premises by her classmate on April 18. Union Minister Shobha said, “Neha Hiremath's murder happened inside the college campus. State govt is not taking any action against him and they're trying to close this case. Because, Siddaramaiah is doing vote bank politics now, to make minorities happy and get their votes, govt is taking the murder of Neha Hiremath easy...”

Kannada actors Harshika Poonacha and her husband Bhuvann Ponnanna were reportedly attacked by a mob in Bengaluru for speaking in Kannada. As per Harshika, the miscreants harassed the couple and also tried to rob them. She shared her incident on her social media handle and asked "How safe are they in Bangalore?" Speaking exclusively with ANI, the couple shared the horror experience they went through. She shared a video of the incident on Facebook. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on April 13 talked about the sequence of events that led to the arrest of the Bengaluru café blast case suspects from West Bengal. Talking to ANI, the Home Minister praised the NIA and Karnataka Police for arresting the accused. He also raised doubts about their involvement in Shivamogga blast. “NIA has done a wonderful job. Our Karnataka police have done a wonderful job. Both of them hail from Karnataka. They studied together. I was told initially that they are from Thirthahalli, Shivamogga district. We will find out whether they have any links with the other agencies. These two were supposed to have been involved in the earlier Shivamogga blast. They had escaped for almost 3-4 years. And now after this incident, they are caught. NIA will investigate further. And then our police also will find out because they are originally from Karnataka. So let us wait and see what comes out of the investigation...” said G Parameshwara.

In a big win for NIA, two suspects of the Rameshwaram Café blast were nabbed from Kolkata on April 12. Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Taha were allegedly involved in Rameshwaram Café blast. Mussavir Hussain Shazib is accused of planting the IED inside the Rameshwaram Café. On the other hand, Abdul Matheen Taha is said to be the mastermind of the attack. The NIA had declared rewards of Rs 10 lakh on each of the absconders. NIA, Central Agencies and police force of several states worked together to nab the accused. The cafe in Bengaluru's Whitefield area was jolted by a low-intensity blast on March 1. The case was handed over to the NIA on March 3, following the NIA team’s visit to the blast site. Watch video.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Union Minister Smriti Irani held a special interaction with businessmen in Bengaluru, Karnataka on April 05. In this special meeting, she urged the audience to vote for BJP in order to make India a developed country and the third-largest economy in the world. She also took a dig at the opposition, the Gandhi family and their politics over the years. She went ahead and also criticized them for rejecting the invitation to the inauguration ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. On March 17, a mob attacked a shopkeeper over allegedly playing Hanuman Chalisa during ‘azaan’. A Hindu organisation held a protest in Bengaluru on March 19 over the Hanuman Chalisa row. Meanwhile, a clash erupted between Hindu organisation and Police during the protest. BJP Yuva Morcha National President Tejasvi Surya also joined the protest on March 19. Later, BJP MP Surya urged protestors to quit the demonstration after a clash with Bengaluru Police after he was detained. For the unversed,a Bengaluru shopkeeper was allegedly beaten for playing loud music at the time of Azaan (Islamic call to prayer). The shopkeeper claims he was playing Hanuman Chalisa at this shop in central Bengaluru when the assault took place.
