Pune Porsche Accident: Deputy CM Fadnavis Assures Justice

Horrific Pune luxury car accident continues to rage people across nation as people seek justice for the victims. The Juvenile Justice Board granted bail to the 17-years-old accused hours after the gruesome accident. With a very lenient approach, the board granted bail to the accused on conditions of writing essay and 15-day social work. The Juvenile Justice Board’s verdict has sparked a massive uproar in Pune and parts of India. The Maharashtra Government swung into action on May 21 after a  massive uproar over Court’s order. Maharashtra Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis on May 21 held a meeting with Pune Police over the gruesome incident. Fadnavis said that police will leave no stone unturned to serve justice to kin of the deceased. Meanwhile, the horrific incident has left the parents in grief as they demand justice for their children. Notably, police have arrested 3 accused in the horrific case and have been sent in custody till May 24 by special court in Pune. Additionally, two more accused, the juvenile's father and another bar owner are currently detained.

Today on 19th April, the first phase of voting for the Lok Sabha election 2024 kicked off. In Maharashtra, the voting began in five seats of Nagpur, Ramtek (SC), Bhandara-Gondia, Chandrapur, and the Naxal-affected Gadchiroli-Chimur (ST). Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and his wife Amruta Fadnavis were seen casting their votes at a polling booth in Nagpur. The Maharashtra government on Tuesday razed ‘illegal’ structures and encroachments in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road in Thane where a clash between two groups of people was reported on the eve of Ram temple ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony in Ayodhya Gita Jain. BJP MLA from Mira Bhayander Constituency, explained the sequence of events that led to the violence. Following the Mira Road Violence, wherein two groups clashed, next to Mumbai, significant security measures have been enforced in the region. Police have detained a man seen agitating people in a viral video on social media. According to the report, in response to Mira Road clash, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the arrest of thirteen individuals, with ongoing efforts to identify other suspects.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with Governor Ramesh Bais paid floral tributes to the Bravehearts at Martyrs' Memorial on the premises of the Police Commissioner's Office in Mumbai on November 26. Today, it marks the 15th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack. Commonly referred to as 26/11, these coordinated assaults by a group of 10 terrorists did mayhem on the streets of Mumbai and sent shockwaves through the nation and the world. Terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group had entered the city of Mumbai on the night of November 26, 2008. Over the course of four days, they killed 166 people and injured 300.

Maratha Reservation: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde holds meeting

Amid the ongoing Maratha reservation protest, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was seen leaving Raj Bhawan after meeting Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais. Later, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis also joined the meeting at Eknath Shinde’s Bungalow. The meeting was in the wake of the multiple violent protests that took place in demand for Maratha reservations. As the Maratha community’s movement flared up, multiple incidents of vehicles being set on fire came across on October 30. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Prakash Solanke’s residence in Maharashtra’s Beed was also set on fire by a group of pro-Maratha reservation protestors. The movement took a violent form due to which, massive damage has been caused to public and private property. Satara district will remain closed tomorrow while a curfew has also been imposed in Beed district.
