Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, will lead the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) campaign for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, senior party leader Atishi said. Sunita will launch her campaign with a roadshow in the East Delhi constituency on Saturday.
At a news conference, Atishi, who is also a minister in the Delhi government, announced that Sunita Kejriwal will actively seek votes and support for the AAP in Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, and Haryana. She explained Sunita's schedule, noting that following the East Delhi roadshow, another will take place in West Delhi on Sunday, stated agency reports.

"To oppose the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, seek blessings for him, and campaign for AAP's candidates, his wife Sunita Kejriwal will personally step into the campaign. She will ask for blessings for Arvind from the people of Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, and Haryana," said Atishi in a press conference, per an ANI report.
"Sunita Kejriwal's campaign will start tomorrow, beginning in Delhi. Tomorrow, April 27, Sunita ji will hold a roadshow in East Delhi Lok Sabha and seek blessings for Arvind Kejriwal from the people of East Delhi. On April 28, Sunita Kejriwal ji will conduct a roadshow in West Delhi Lok Sabha, seeking blessings from the people of West Delhi for Arvind Kejriwal," Atishi further said.
According to a PTI report, Sunita Kejriwal's increased involvement comes at a critical time for the AAP, as the party's campaign for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was hampered by Arvind Kejriwal's detention in a money laundering case in March. With the Delhi Chief Minister's judicial custody prolonged until May 7, Sunita is stepping up to spearhead the AAP's efforts to rally support.
The AAP, in collaboration with the Congress, will run candidates in East Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and New Delhi for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Meanwhile, the Congress has fielded candidates for the North East Delhi, North West Delhi, and Chandni Chowk constituencies, the news agency report added.
Since her husband's arrest, Sunita Kejriwal has served as a vital link between Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP, facilitating contact between them and the party's MLAs. She has held multiple digital media briefings to share the Chief Minister's messages and updates with the public and Delhi cabinet ministers, the PTI report stated.
