A fire broke out in a four-story residential structure in Thane, Maharashtra, destroying 20 electric metres, according to civic officials. The incident occurred on Saturday night at the Noor Mahal Housing Society in the Mumbra neighbourhood.
No injuries were recorded because the building's residents quickly left after the fire broke out at about 11:15 pm. Firefighters, regional disaster management teams, energy supply people, and police all responded rapidly to the issue, reported PTI.

According to the news agency report, the fire, which started in one of the electric meters, spread quickly to others, forcing an immediate response to contain it. After almost an hour of work, the fire was successfully extinguished.
Following the incident, the building's power supply was interrupted for safety reasons. While a short-circuit is suspected as the source of the fire, investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of the outbreak, the PTI report further stated.
Four injured in massive hotel fire in Palghar
In another incident four persons were injured after a large fire broke out at a hotel in the Nalasopara area of Palghar district, Maharashtra, officials reported.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when a civic body-operated hydraulic machine accidentally disrupted a gas pipeline while enlarging a sewer. The gas leak exploded and consumed the Dwarka Hotel on Achole Road, injuring four people, another mid-day report stated.
The injured, Sundar B Shetty (62), Gopal S Bangera (70), Chandra Magarkar (45), and Raja Kumar Shah (27), were immediately sent to a local hospital for treatment of severe burn injuries. Bangera's health is described as critical, the report added.
According to the report, the fire, accompanied by loud blast-like sounds, caused panic among local bystanders. The hotel, situated on the ground floor with flats above, was severely affected by the blaze.
Responding swiftly, officials from the Vasai-Virar City Municipal Corporation (VVCMC) dispatched multiple fire engines to combat the inferno. Local sources allege that the VVCMC has been neglecting safety guidelines during road digging and drain widening projects, often led by private contractors.
As of now, it is unclear whether any FIR has been filed in connection with the incident.
