A Special MCOCA court has ordered two suspects, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, to be held in judicial custody until May 27 in connection with the Salman Khan house firing incident. Their police custody concluded today, and the police have requested an extension for additional questioning. However, the court opted to place them in judicial custody instead, reported ANI.
According to the report, advocate Amit Mishra, who represents the defendants, voiced discontent with the court's decision and suggested scripted proceedings. He pointed out flaws in the case, such as the lack of substantial proof and the selective presentation of suspects.

Mishra, speaking to ANI, said, "It is unfortunate that when they were produced on April 29, there were four accused, one of whom was granted judicial custody. Today, only accused numbers one and two were produced, while others were absent. The prosecution sought their police custody without concrete evidence. The court, however, sent accused numbers one and two to judicial custody which will be till May 27 considering from May 13."
Mohammad Rafiq Chaudhary, who was recently arrested in connection with the Salman Khan house firing case, is accused of facilitating financial aid and conducting surveillance for the gunmen Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta. Reportedly, Chaudhary's arrest added another layer to the probe of the Salman Khan house firing case.
The two shooters, on April 14, opened fire outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. Mumbai Police swiftly responded to the incident and began a probe into the incident. The two accused in Salman Khan house firing case were later charged under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) due to their being tied with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Meanwhile, a lookout notice has been issued against Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi's brother. He had claimed responsibility for the attack in a cryptic social media post hours after Salman Khan house firing case.
Mohammad Rafiq Chaudhary has been remanded into Crime Branch prison until May 13. Investigations uncovered his interactions with the gunmen, further implicating him in the crime.
Last week, one of the accused, Anuj Thapan, died by suicide while being in police custody. His family is now demanding a CBI probe into his death.
