Mumbai local train update stated that train services will be affected from Thursday midnight to Sunday noon

The Mumbai Division of Central Railway will run a special block of 63 hours for the widening of Platforms No. 5 and 6 at Thane and a special block of 36 hours for Non-Interlocking (NI) works for the widening of Platform No. 10 and 11 to accommodate 24-coach trains at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. Train services will be affected from Thursday midnight to Sunday noon. 


Mumbai local train update: Details of the block


A. BLOCK 1 – 63 hrs Special Block at Thane (DN Fast line)
Date and duration of block: From 00.30 hrs of 30/31.05.2024 (Thursday/Friday midnight) to 15:30 hrs of 02.06.2024 (Sunday afternoon) = 63 Hrs
Block Section:  
UP Slow Line:Kalva (including CSMT end crossovers) to Thane (including all crossovers)
DN Fast Line:Thane (including all crossovers) to Kalva (including all crossovers) 
UP Fast Line: Kalva (including all crossovers) to Thane (including all crossovers).


B. BLOCK 2 – 36  hrs Special Block at CSMT
Date and duration of block: From 00.30 hrs of 31.5.2024/01.6.2024 (Friday/Saturday midnight) to 12.30 hrs of 02.6.2024 (Sunday afternoon) - 36 hours 
Duration of the block:
DN Fast Line: 00.30 hrs (Thursday/Friday night) to 15:30 hrs (Sunday day Hrs) 
                               63 Hrs.
UP Slow Line: 00.30 hrs (Thursday/Friday night) to 12:30 hrs (Friday day Hrs) 
                              12 Hrs.
Block Section:  
UP and DOWN Harbour lines between CSMT (including) and Vadala Road (excluding), UP and DOWN slow lines between CSMT (including) and Byculla (excluding),
UP and DOWN fast lines between CSMT (including) and Byculla (excluding)

Mumbai local train update: Repercussions on suburban trains during the block

Cancellation of suburban services:
930 suburban services will be cancelled during the block period as follows:
161 services will be cancelled on 31.5.2024 (Friday)
534 services will be cancelled on 01.6.2024 (Saturday) 
235 services will be cancelled on 02.6.2024 (Sunday) 

Short termination of suburban services:
444 suburban services will be short-terminated during the block period as follows:
7 services will be short terminated on 31.5.2024 (Friday)
306 services will be short terminated on 01.6.2024 (Saturday) 
131 services will be short terminated on 02.6.2024 (Sunday) 

Short origination of suburban services:
446 suburban services will short originate during the block period as follows:
307 services will short originate on 01.6.2024 (Saturday) 
139 services will short originate on 02.6.2024 (Sunday) 

Chief Public Relations Officer Central Railway Swapnil Nila, in a post on X about the Mumbai local train update, requested to travel at least to avoid inconvenience during the block period.
