A woman functionary from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen approached Mumbai Police seeking action against two persons. The AIMIM functionary sought action against the two for allegedly posting objectionable messages on social media, an official told PTI on Monday.

The AIMIM Mumbai Women's cell chief Rizwana Khan, reportedly, told the cops that the duo made condemnable remarks on X (formerly Twitter) against her and her party colleague and former MLA Waris Pathan.

The official said that Khan in her application stated that the police must register a First Information Report against the two for stalking, sexual harassment and making communal statements per the PTI report.

An official from Malwani police station told news agency PTI that Khan's application is being reviewed and a case will be registered if necessary.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident from Navi Mumbai, a man was booked on Monday for repeatedly raping a 25-year-old woman in the city, according to a police officer. A PTI report stated that the suspect also blackmailed the woman.

According to a Kamothe police station official, the Navi Mumbai resident works for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, and the man is a resident of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

Cops further said that the accused, who had developed a friendship with the survivor, had repeatedly raped her between October 2022 and January this year, the PTI report added.

"As per the complaint, the man and woman developed a friendship, after which he raped her several times between October 2022 and January this year. He exploited her by threatening to defame her. We registered a rape case on Saturday but are yet to arrest the accused," the official from Kamothe station told PTI.

In another incident from Navi Mumbai, two persons were arrested after police discovered a sex racket and a 14-year-old Bangladeshi girl was rescued, according to a police statement released on Sunday. The sex racket was busted in the city's Taloja neighbourhood, according to a PTI report.

A tip-off confirmed by a dummy customer resulted in a raid on a residence in a residential complex on Saturday, Sub Inspector Suresh Kurhade of the Taloja police station told PTI.

According to the report, the officer went on to say, "Two people, Samon Shaikh and Mohinoor Mandal, were arrested, and a 14-year-old girl from Bangladesh was rescued." "A case has been filed under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act."
