The half-brother of FN Souza, Lancelot Ribeiro moved to London in his teens, quickly cementing himself as one of the leading names in British Asian art. Impulsive Compulsive: The Art of Lancelot Ribeiro brings together works from the 1950s to the 1990s decade, capturing the artist’s oeuvre.

Island dreams

Sri Lankan artist Muhanned Cader’s landscapes, seascapes and sky-scapes capture key moments and junctures from the history of his home island, sights from his grandfather’s house inside the Galle Fort district, and touches of historical fantasy.

A student of astrophysics and photojournalism, Hari Katragadda debuts with the solo show, Lost River, featuring works that capture the ecological and social contradictions of life around the Ganga.

Convenient, but good?

In his first solo show in Mumbai titled Why The F*ck Should Everything Be Convenient, artist Vyom invites viewers to examine the ecological cost of convenience in today’s world.

Unearthing land

With 14 artists, APRE Art House’s Metaphors for Land, curated by Shristi Sainani investigates various definitions of land and ideas around territory. Catch upcoming artists like Mansoor Ali, Meher Afroz Vahid, Krithika Sriram, Muskaan Singh and Hemangini Maharaul. 
Till February 25; 11 am to 7 pm (except Sunday)

New beginnings

Presented by Rad Art Media and curated by Wendy Amanda Coutinho, Clean Slate is a group exhibition of emerging artists that highlights the Phoenix in Mumbai, the spirit and power to transform and rebuild.

In touch with nature

Japanese artist Yusuke Asai holds his first exhibition in India, Sentient Beings Dissolve. Taking inspiration from the word Tokeru which means dissolve, Asai comments on the interconnectedness of all living beings, and a connection with nature and a wider artistic reach.

Tracing identities

Areez Katki’s solo show As this chin melts on your knee comprises works use mediums such as textile, paper and sculpture to explore the artist’s research and
unfolding narratives.
