In an interview with Lifestyle Asia, Vijay Deverakonda squashed rumours of engagement with Rashmika Mandanna, cleared the air, and said that he is neither enaged nor getting married.
He added, "I feel like the press just wants me to get married every two years. I hear this rumour every year. The press is just walking around waiting for me to get married.” So, that settles it. Vijay and Rashmika are not going to get engaged anytime soon, but if their Instagram posts are to be believed, it can still be said that the duo are still rumoured to be dating."

Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have been making headlines for their rumoured love affair, catching the eyes of netizens who eagerly wish to see the duo together. The pair first appeared in the movie "Geetha Govindam" (2018), written and directed by Parasuram, and fans adored their on-screen chemistry. If rumours are to be believed, Rashmika and Vijay are planning to get engaged next month. It is said that the families of both stars have agreed to their marriage, with the engagement reportedly scheduled for the second week of February.
Although the engagement news has been circulating for a while, neither Rashmika nor Vijay has officially confirmed the news. The two, who were reportedly vacationing in the Maldives, have been grabbing headlines for their love affair. During the promotions of "Animal," Rashmika's co-star Ranbir Kapoor also seemingly confirmed the news of Rashmika and Vijay's relationship during the "Unstoppable with NBK" show.
On Nandamuri Balakrishna's Unstoppable With NBK, the veteran actor asked director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Rashmika to choose a film between Animal and Arjun Reddy. The latter starred Vijay Deverakonda in the titular role. Ranbir teased her by asking Rashmika to pick who is a better actor between him and her 'real hero', Vijay.
Nandamuri Balakrishna then asked Sandeep to call Vijay. That's when Ranbir playfully said, "Sir, let Rashmika call, Vijay won't pick his (Sandeep's) call." However, Vijay didn't answer any of their calls. Later, he dialled Sandeep and then he handed it over to Rashmika. Vijay asked her, "What's up, re?" She warned him that the call had been put on speaker.
