Actress Swara Bhasker and her politician husband Fahad Ahmed welcomed their daughter, Rabiya in September last year. While the actress has been enjoying the joys of motherhood, she recently responded to a comment on her weight gain by a news outlet. A Hindi news channel reported that the actress has been losing out on work because of her weight gain. Swara took to her Instagram stories and Twitter handle to share a screengrab of the news article and reacted to it strongly.
The headline in the news article in Hindi read, “Badhte wajan ke karan Swara ko nahi mil raha kaam (Due to her weight gain, Swara is not getting work)!”

Responding to the news article, Swara reminded the reporters that she recently gave birth, indicating that it is natural to put on weight during pregnancy. Swara Bhasker recently stepped out for an event in the city after a long time. Owing to her new role as a mother, she revealed that she hardly gets the time to dress up and attend events. When she recently attended the India screening of the restored version of Shyam Benegal's 'Manthan', the actress shared pictures of her look. Dressed in a saree, Swara flaunted her new mother glow. "To be honest, since I became a mom getting glammed up has changed in meaning and import.. it used to be a routine work thing for me, now I sometimes accept invitations just for the opportunity to dress up! It reminds me of what I was and how it was before I became a Mamma..," she wrote.
She added, "Today I had a cherished invitation for the premiere of the restored #Manthan a classic film by the legendary #shyambenegal and a wedding after and I grabbed the opportunity to take a break from the T-shirt Pajama routine! Thank you @prifreebee & @stylistsony for making it possible!"
