It's been a day since the MET Gala 2024, and now we're starting to hear about the scandals that happened. The night of fashion also adds to pop culture by giving people online lots to talk about, including both interactions and faux pas that occurred during the event. This MET Gala was attended by the crème de la crème of the world, and unsurprisingly, there were some major fashion misses that everyone pointed out!

So let's take a closer look:

1) Did Alia Bhatt Copy Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma?

Alia Bhatt wore a mint green Sabyasachi saree to the MET Gala 2024. The saree, adorned with floral patterns, perfectly matched the event's garden theme. The green saree alone was stunning, but the long pallu with a train added an extra wow factor. And the butterfly blouse with ruffled sleeves was a nice finishing touch. However, some corners of the internet criticized Alia for wearing this ensemble, claiming she copied the look from Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma.

2) AI Images on the Red Carpet

Did you think Katy Perry attended the MET Gala this year? Think again. The pictures you saw were actually fake! They were artificially created using technology. The photo of Katy on the MET steps went so viral that Katy Perry's mother had to ask the singer if she was actually there. It's quite unsettling! AI-generated images also made netizens believe Rihanna and Blake Lively quietly attended the event, though they were not actually present.

3) Amelia Grey Inspired by Uorfi Javed

Uorfi Javed is known for her haute couture looks. While her ensembles don't always get the praise they deserve, there was an outpouring of appreciation for the influencer after the MET Gala. However, regarding the outfit in question, Uorfi herself mentioned that she was inspired by Undercover, the designer who also designed Amelia Grey's look. There was no copying involved. While Uorfi may have been the first to wear a similar creation, she didn't steal anyone's idea, nor did Amelia copy her.

4) Tyla's Sand Dress Cut in Half

Tyla wore a stunning Balmain sand dress to the MET Gala 2024. The strapless dress hugged every inch of the singer’s body before flaring out into a mermaid train. However, towards the end of the night, there were visuals of the singer's dress being cut into a mini dress for the after-party. Netizens were offended and thought it was careless to destroy such an important piece of fashion culture.

5) Doja Cat's 'Cotton' is a Flower Statement

Doja Cat posed on the sprawling Met red carpet with one arm across her chest and one arm strategically pulling up the skirt of her wet dress. Netizens were of the thought that this look brings shame to the avant-garde nature of the MET Gala. In addition, during the interview portion of the red carpet, Doja Cat claimed her look was inspired by the "flower" cotton, which is inaccurate.

6) Cardi B's Biggest Faux Pas

Chinese designer Sensen Lii, now based in Antwerp, is known for futuristic creations. Some of his works include bug-eye shades and monstrous heels. For Cardi B, the designer poured in his blood, sweat and tears and crafted a special gown channeling gothic glamour: Her black, off-the-shoulder silhouette came with mounds of tulle and a sweeping train. However, when Cardi B was asked who designed the dress, she forgot Sensen's name and simply said, "they are Asian."
