The mass sick leave was considered a pre-meditated and concerted abstention from work without justifiable reason .The disruption caused by the mass sick leave affected more than 95+ flights of Air India Express between May 07, 08 .Air India Express CEO, Aloke Singh also announced plans to reduce flight operations in the coming days. Sam Pitroda has quit as the chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress amid a huge political row over his controversial racist remarks. The decision has been accepted by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The announcement about Mr Pitroda came in a terse post on X from the party's communications-in-charge Jairam Ramesh.  For the unversed, Sam Pitroda, in a podcast while describing the diversity of India, had said that the “people in the east look like the Chinese, people in the west look like the Arabs, people in the north look like, maybe, white and people in the south look like Africans.” This remark by Sam Pitroda created a controversial storm all over social media. Big politicians have been bashing Pitroda over his racist remark. PM Modi also slammed Pitroda over his  racist slur. Other BJP leaders also came forward to bash Pitroda. Diplomatic crisis deepened between India, Canada over the murder of Khalistani Terrorist Hardeep Nijjar. Canadian Police arrested and charged 3 Indians with the murder of Khalistani Terrorist Hardeep Nijjar. 3 Indian nationals accused of Hardeep Singh Nijjar's killing made their first court appearance. Members of the Sikh Community from British Columbia crowded a Surrey courtroom on May 07.The arrested men are Karanpreet Singh (28), Kamalpreet Singh (22), and Karan Brar (22).Pro-Khalistani protesters chanted slogans and held placards, outside the Surrey Provincial Court. Indian nationals are facing charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The killing of the Khalistani leader has severely damaged Canada's relations with India. Meanwhile, S Jaishankar gave it back to Canada over the arrest of 3 Indians in Nijjar’s case. Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead in June last year outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, a Vancouver suburb. Canada’s NDP leader Jagmeet Singh has renewed his claim of Indian hands behind the incident.India has been vehemently denying all the allegations by calling it ‘absurd and motivated.

Russian President Vladimir Putin took oath as Russian President for 5th term. Putin’s new mandate was marked by a protest from Western countries who boycotted the Kremlin ceremony. At 71, Putin dominates the national political landscape after he won a landslide victory in March earlier this year. The US said it did not consider Putin’s re-election free and fair amid prolonged Ukraine-Russia war. Putin begins his new mandate a day after he ordered tactical nuclear weapon drills to deter the West. Moscow on May 06 said it would practice deployment of tactical nuclear weapons after citing threats from France, Britain & US. Since Ukraine conflict began in 2020, Russia has said the US and its European allies are pushing the world to the brink of nuclear confrontation. In March, Putin warned and said direct conflict with US & NATO means world is “One step away from World War Three”. Meanwhile, after taking oath Putin said talks on strategic nuclear stability with the West were also possible, but only on equal terms. Russia and US are by far world's biggest nuclear powers, holding more than 10,600 of world's 12,100 nuclear warheads.
