Lawyers allege top brass had intel of abnormal activity in Gaza but did nothing

Forty-two survivors of Hamas’s October 7 massacre at the Supernova music festival at Kibbutz Re’im are suing the Israel Defence Forces, Israel Security Agency and Israel Police for negligence and are claiming 200 million shekels (USD 53.6 million) in damages. The claim was filed by lawyers Anat and Gilad Ginzburg, who note that the night before Hamas’s invasion, top security brass held meetings amid intelligence indicating abnormal activity in the Gaza Strip.
“One phone call would have prevented 364 people from being murdered, raped, or both, and another 40 from being kidnapped into Gaza,” Gilad Ginzburg told the Tazpit Press Service. “We blame the police and the army for allowing the producers to hold the festival (along the border), even though we know that IDF surveillance officers raised the alarm and felt that it would be unsafe,” he added. All 42 plaintiffs underwent medical/psychological evaluations indicating that they suffer from physical or mental trauma as a direct result of the massacre.

Iran strikes targets in Syria, Iraq
Iran fired missiles late on Monday at what it claimed were Israeli “spy headquarters” near the US consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil, and at targets linked to the extremist group Islamic State in northern Syria. Four civilians were killed and six injured after missiles hit an upscale area near the consulate in Irbil, the seat of Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region, according to the security council of the Kurdish regional government. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also said in a statement that it had hit the headquarters of Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, in the Kurdish region of Iraq. Another statement said it had fired a number of ballistic missiles at “terrorist operations”, including Islamic State targets, in Syria and destroyed them.
Israel destroys 100 rocket launchers
The IDF (Israel Defence Forces), in the past day, destroyed about 100 rocket launch facilities and killed a number of terrorists. The rocket facilities were found by fighters of the IDF’s 401st Armoured Brigade’s Combat Team in the Beit Lahia area of Gaza. Of these, about 60 rockets are ready for launch at civilian targets in Israel.
