Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse: While 41 workers stay trapped, experts say only 5-6 metres left

Multi-agencies rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing to rescue the 41 trapped workers. 41 workers have been trapped inside the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi since November 12 after the Uttarkashi Tunnel collapse. Leaving no stone unturned to evacuate the workers, manual drilling began after auger drilling machine was busted. While updating on the rescue operations, Mirco Tunnelling expert Chris Cooper on Nov 28 stated that only 5-6 meters are left.  So far, only 2 meters of manual drilling has been completed and workers pulled out debris from the rescue pipe. Silkyara tunnel collapsed following a landslide on Nov 12, leaving 41 workers trapped inside the tunnel. Notably, Officials have informed that the 41 workers trapped inside the tunnel are stable and safe.
