Voting for second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 has begun in eight Maharashtra seats, Chavan urged people to actively participate in determining India's govt.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan used his voting rights at a polling booth in Nanded during the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024, encouraging a strong turnout.
As voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 began in eight Maharashtra constituencies, including Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal-Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, Buldhana, and Parbhani, Chavan urged people to take an active role in determining the nation's government, the ANI report stated.

Chavan made a plea to the public, emphasising the importance of their votes in establishing a strong government and democratic engagement, the report added.
Chavan, per ANI report, said, "My appeal to the people is to go and vote in large numbers. Contribute to the democratic process and vote because your vote is important in bringing a strong government."
Regarding his recent departure from the Congress party, Chavan declined to comment, saying, "I don't want to say anything. Whatever it is, the public will respond."

Highlighting recent advances, particularly the establishment of a 10 per cent reservation for the Maratha community, Chavan stated that ambiguities have been cleared up, building confidence in the people, the agency report added.
He, per the ANI report, asserted, "All the misunderstandings have been sorted, there is no doubt among the people. Marathas have got a 10% reservation."
Chavan made news earlier in February when he joined the BJP, stating a desire to understand the nation's sentiments. He abstained from commenting on Congress, instead expressing admiration for Sonia Gandhi and attributing any changes inside the party to karma.
The second phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Maharashtra began on Friday, adding to the national electoral process, which includes 88 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across many states and Union Territories.
Originally scheduled for 89 constituencies, the Election Commission later declared that voting would be cancelled in Madhya Pradesh's Betul constituency due to the death of a Bahujan Samaj Party candidate.
With the first phase concluded on April 19 and a voter turnout of more than 62 per cent, the election momentum continues, with the third phase set for May 7.
