The Mira Bhayander Civic Body on Tuesday razed the alleged "illegal" roadside stalls in Naya Nagar area of Mira Road in Thane district of Maharashtra which witnessed a communal clash two days back using bulldozers.
A huge contingent of police personnel, including a Rapid Action Force (RAF) team, was deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.

Notably, the action by the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation to demolish the "illegal" roadside stalls came a day after Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who holds the Home portfolio, warned of strict action against rioters involved in "Mira Road clashes".
Videos of the razing of the stalls have gone viral on social media.
Members of two communities clashed during a vehicle rally organised in Naya Nagar on the outskirts of Mumbai on Sunday night on the eve of the Ram temple consecration in Ayodhya.
A mob armed with iron rods, sticks, and bats shouted religious slogans and assaulted the man whose car was part of the procession comprising three vehicles and 10 two-wheelers, police had said.
They vandalised the car with stones and sticks.
Police registered a case of attempt to murder against 50-60 persons and took 13 of them in custody, according to the police official.
Meanwhile, members of a local right-wing organisation clashed with students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Mumbai on Tuesday over a banner condemning the 1992 demolition of the Babri Masjid put up by the students, police said.
The banner with the words "Babri Demolition, Death of Democracy" was put up by the FTII Students Association (FSA) on the campus on Monday, said deputy commissioner of police Sandip Gill.
The incident took place a day after the Rm temple consecration ceremony in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.
"A group of ten persons barged into the institute's campus in the morning. They tore up the banner and clashed with students," the DCP said. Police were recording the statements of students and investigation was on, he added.
The FTII students' body as well as the administration could not be reached for comment despite repeated attempts. (With inputs from agencies)
