Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who holds finance and planning departments, presented an interim budget for 2024-25 on Tuesday. "We are presenting an interim budget for four months of 2024-25. The remaining budget will be presented after Lok Sabha polls in the next session of the assembly," he said.

“First instalment of Rs.1,691.47 Crore has been provided as grants to 84.57 lakh farmer families under ‘Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana’. An amount of Rs. 2268.43 Crore insurance claims have been paid to 50.01 lakh farmer applicants through 'One Rupee Crop Insurance Scheme' in the Kharip season, 2023. The second phase of Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjeevani Project, costing around Rs 6,000 Crore, has been approved,” he said.
“Approval has been given to establish Soybean Research and Processing Sub-Centre, Government Agriculture College and Agribusiness Management College at Jirewadi, Taluka Parli Vaijnath in Beed District, under the jurisdiction of Vasantrao Naik Agricultural University, Parbhani. A proposal of 129 projects related to goats, sheep, boars, poultry and livestock fodder, has been sent to the Central Government for the benefit of farmers, under National Livestock Campaign,” Pawar added.
An outlay of Rs 3,650 Crore under scheme expenditure is proposed for the Agriculture Department, Rs 555 Crore for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department and Rs 708 crore for the Horticulture Department for the year 2024-25.
Maharashtra Dy CM Ajit Pawar presented an interim budget for 2024-25 with a revenue deficit of Rs 9,734 crore and a fiscal deficit of Rs 99,288 crore.
“An outlay of Rs 18,165 Crore has been proposed under the scheme expenditure for the District Annual Plan for the year 2024-25. This outlay is 20 per cent more than the previous year. An outlay of Rs.1.92 lakh Crore has been proposed under the scheme expenditure in the Annual Plan 2024-25. It includes an outlay of Rs 15, 893 Crore for the Scheduled Castes Sub Plan and Rs 15,360 Crore for the Tribal Development Sub Plan. An outlay of Rs.6,00,522 Crore is proposed for the total expenditure in the year 2024-25. The revenue receipts are proposed as Rs 4,98,758 Crore and the revenue expenditure, as Rs 5,08,492 Crore. The revenue deficit is estimated as Rs 9,734 Crore,” he said.
