Actor Salman Khan was seen greeting veteran cinematographer Nadeem Khan while leaving the polling booth at St Anne’s School in Bandra West after casting his vote on Monday. Salman Khan was heard telling Nadeem Khan, “You are the best cinematographer of India,” even as the latter seemingly struggled to interact with him, courtesy his poor health.

While Salman Khan has never collaborated with the renowned cinematographer, the latter has worked on films penned by the actor’s screenwriter father Salim Khan. Nadeem Khan has worked on Vinod Khan-starrer Jurm (1990), for which Salim Khan wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues. Another popular collaboration of the duo was on the 1985 film, Zamana, which starred the late Rishi Kapoor and the late Rajesh Khanna.

Nadeem Khan, 73, is the son of celebrated poet-writer, Rahi Masoom Raza, most popularly known for penning the 1988 epic television show, Mahabharat. Nadeem Khan began his career in 1976 with a short film, Murder at Monkey Hill. He made his feature debut the next year with Shashi Kapoor and Sanjeev Kumar-starrer Mukti. Nadeem Khan worked in the film’s camera department, while KK Mahajan served as the director of photography. In 2020, the cinematographer suffered multiple injuries after falling down the stairs.
