Adam's Bridge, Tamil Nadu: Adam's Bridge, also called Lord Rama's bridge is a chain of shoals between the islands of Mannar, near northwestern Sri Lanka, and Rameshwaram off the southeastern coast of India. The legend goes that Ramayana Ravana, the King of Lanka abducted Sita, the wife of Lord Rama. Lord Rama then assembled an army who helped him build a bridge between the southern-most tip of India and Sri Lanka. This bridge was eponymously named Ram Setu. Geologists say that Rama Setu was built naturally and are actually a chain of limestone shoals however, they could not prove the same.
