On November 10, Kamal Haasan unveiled a statue of Ghattamnaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy in Vijayawada. Penning a note for him, Mahesh Babu shared a video. His caption read, "Heartfelt gratitude to @ikamalhaasan sir and #DevineniAvinash garu for gracing the inaugural event of Krishna garu's statue in Vijayawada. Truly honoured to have them unveil Nanna garu's statue, a homage to the legacy he left behind! Also, a big thank you to all the fans from the bottom of my heart who made this event possible. Humbled by all the love."

Superstar Krishna reportedly succumbed to a heart attack. Before his demise, he was hospitalised after he complained of breathlessness. The yesteryear star was reportedly depressed since the death of his wife Indira Devi in September 2022. In January 2022, he lost his elder son Ramesh Babu at the age of 56 after a prolonged illness. Indira Devi passed away at the age of 70. She was reportedly suffering from age-related health issues and had been admitted to the AIG hospital in Hyderabad.

A few days after his demise, Mahesh Babu penned a note for his 'Nanna' (or father). He wrote, "Your life was celebrated… your passing is being celebrated even more... Such is your greatness. You lived your life fearlessly… daring and dashing was your nature. My inspiration… my courage… and all that I looked up to and all that really mattered are gone just like that. But strangely, I feel this strength in me which I never really felt before... Now I’m fearless... Your light will shine in me forever... I will carry your legacy forward… I will make you even more proud… Love you Nanna.. My Superstar."
