Beloved fashion designer Virgil Abloh passed away at the age of 41 yesterday, after privately battling a rare form of cancer for several years. Supermodel Kendall Jenner shared a heart-wrenching tribute to mourn Virgil’s unexpected death. Taking to Instagram, she shared throwback pictures and video clips featuring herself with the designer and wrote, “I can’t believe I’m writing this. If you had the privilege of knowing Virgil, you were one of the lucky ones. He was the kindest, most positive, humble, and joyful person I have ever known. He had the most wonderful way of making you feel special. His genuine smile would warm your heart. To battle his illness privately perfectly explains the type of man he was; he never wanted anyone to worry about him.”

The designer founded the label Off-White, and served as the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection. Kendall’s mother Kris Jenner and sister, beauty mogul Kylie Jenner also mourned the death of the iconic fashion designer on their Instagram handle.

Musician Justin Timberlake too paid tribute, sharing, “What can you say when a force like Virgil Abloh is taken too soon? You gave the world so much, in such little time. And created with intensity… knowing better than the rest of us that life is short, but anything is possible. I’m honoured to have known you. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.” “It is with great sadness that I send my condolences and love to the Abloh family and his friends. We will forever honour you, Virgil. Thank you for inspiring an entire generation,” Beyonce added.

Riz Ahmed wrote, “Rest in power, gone too soon but your legacy lives on. Stretched culture and changed the game. Thank you for all you did to support so many, and how you pushed us to re-imagine what’s possible.” Usher urged his followers to recognise that life can be short. “This is that’s precisely what I meant when I said we need to thank those who are here while we have them.” Taking to her Instagram Story, Priyanka Chopra posted a picture of Abloh and wrote, “Gone too soon.” Karan Johar also paid tribute to the designer on social media.
