Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was lurking at the bottom of the team standings having won no single match a week ago. Mumbai Indians, in contrast, had a perfect five and was the table-toppers. Mumbai had locked up a top-three finish, while Royal Challengers' chances were tenuous. The previous time these teams faced each other, Mumbai had brutally defeated Royal Challengers earlier in the tournament. Since then, RCB have bounced back into the contest. Following a victory over UP Warriorz, they proceeded to destroy Gujarat Giants by eight wickets in a high-scoring match. Mumbai, meanwhile, suffered their first loss of the competition at the hands of Warriorz.

But, as a result of Warriorz's victory over Giants on Monday, Royal Challengers have been eliminated from the race. Mumbai will need to show up for this match in less than 24 hours, therefore Royal Challengers will want to take advantage of this opportunity to end the campaign on a good note. Mumbai, on the other hand, will prefer to cling onto the top rank since that would guarantee them a spot in the final. Mumbai might not take first place if Delhi Capitals defeat them on Monday and win their last league match against Warriorz.

A full delivery from Ellyse Perry and Kaur went for a drive but ends up with an inside edge to direct the ball onto the stumps.

That's a wicket! Little juggling act from captain Smriti at mid-on as she holds on for the catch to send back Bhatia on 30.

5:33 PM: 25/0 after 3 overs

Wicket! No, it's a no ball! Hayley Matthews is definitely riding on her luck today! First, an lbw call and then caught behind but off a no ball.

5:23 PM: 6/0 in 1.1 overs

Matthews has been given out LBW off the first delivery of the chase. A big inswinger from Megan Schutt as Matthews came across and missed it. Ultraedge shows no spike and ball tracker predicts it would have missed the leg stump.

4:46 PM: 91/5 in 16.1 overs

WICKET! Ellyse Perry was up for some quick runs. Goes well across but misses the ball which crashes onto the pad. There is a loud appeal and umpire raises the finger. That was plumb.

Another one bites the dust! This time it's Kanika Ahuja, stumped for 12. That's a third wicket for Amelia Kerr.

4:20 PM: 76/3 after 14 overs

Amelia Kerr claims her second wicket in as many overs. Heather Knight fumbles after reaching out for a big shot but all she can do is chip it to Issy Wong at long-on. Hayley Matthews is brought back to finish her spell and finishes with figures of 0/18. Nat Sciver-Brunt is brought back into the contest and yields 7 runs including an extra via wide in the 14th over.

4:00 PM: 41/2 after 8 overs

Smriti Mandhana falls on 24 in what is her final innings of the tournament. Amelia Kerr drops one short and Mandhana went for the pull, but doesn’t get it right as she went across for a top-edge to be caught by the wicketkeeper.

3:48 PM: 27/1 after 5 overs

Hayley Matthews continues the charge. New batter Ellyse Perry steps out for an inside out shot over extra cover for her first boundary of the innings. Barring that, a good over from Matthews off which came seven runs.
