Mumbai City FC qualified for the Indian Super League (ISL) final by securing a comfortable 2-0 victory against FC Goa in the second leg of their semi-final fixture at the Mumbai Football Arena on Monday.

The Islanders defeated the Gaurs 5-2 on aggregate across both legs and will now lock horns with Mohun Bagan Super Giant as both teams battle it out to become the ISL Cup Winners at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on May 4. Argentine striker Jorge Pereyra Diaz, returning from suspension, broke the deadlock in the 69th minute by tapping home a rebound that came off a Rahul Bheke header.

Lallianzuala Chhangte capped off proceedings with an 83rd minute strike, where he pounced upon a disoriented FC Goa defence to receive and convert a through ball by Vikram Partap Singh deep inside the box of the Gaurs. Chhangte thus brought up his 10th strike of the ISL season, equalling his record from the previous campaign when he was crowned with the Golden Ball award.

For FC Goa, their campaign came to a disappointing end, as injuries to key stars like Victor Rodriguez and Sandesh Jhingan hampered their progress in the second half of the season despite topping the league table until December.
