Unlike earlier seasons, the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team started their preparations well ahead of time - in June. They had a camp in Alur near Bangalore, where the batsmen got an opportunity to face India pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna, who were at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
"Our young players' approach was very positive and they showed good temperament while facing the likes of Bumrah. They were pretty comfortable while playing against him, so that is a good sign of us having quality batsmen," head coach Omkar Salvi revealed.
