During President Joe Biden's departure from the Biden-Harris 2024 headquarters in downtown Wilmington, a collision occurred between a sedan and a motorcade SUV

Following the collision, Secret Service personnel swiftly responded, securing the scene by surrounding the vehicle involved in the collision with drawn weapons, ensuring the safety of the President and First Lady.

President Biden, surprised by the incident, paused momentarily, observing the unfolding events before being safely ushered into the waiting vehicle alongside First Lady Jill Biden.

Despite the unexpected occurrence, the incident did not disrupt the President's schedule, allowing the motorcade to proceed smoothly back to their residence.

Witnesses reported a quick and efficient response from security agents who rapidly enclosed the area around the involved vehicles, preventing any further escalation of the situation.

Observers nearby expressed shock and concern at the collision, with one passerby vocalising surprise, highlighting the suddenness and unexpected nature of the incident.

Before the incident, the President and First Lady had visited the campaign headquarters and were dining with staff.

Prior to the collision, President Biden responded to a query about polls, he was dismissing Donald Trump's remark saying his (Biden's) popularity has dropped.
