Large numbers of Shia mourners in Iraq's Kadhimiya near Baghdad, to commemorate the death anniversary of Imam Musa Al-Kadhim

The Imam’s martyrdom anniversary is observed on the twenty-fifth of the month of Rajab, in which millions of pilgrims from inside and outside Iraq participate

Reports said that “thousands of Iraqi pilgrims have been continuing their massive procession for several days towards the capital, Baghdad, to commemorate the Pilgrimage of Rajab.”

Ahead of the commemoration, Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, closely monitored the execution of the security and service plan associated with the grand pilgrimage

“Al-Sudani received a comprehensive presentation outlining the responsibilities entrusted to the relevant security and service authorities,” stated the media office of the prime minister in a statement

“Additionally, he examined a briefing delivered by the Minister of Interior, who also serves as the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Pilgrimage, offering a concise overview of the measures and precautions implemented”

The seventh Imam Musa Ibn Ja’far Al-Kazim was born in Madina on 7th Safar 128 Hijri (10.11.745AD). He died in Baghdad Iraq 25th Rajab 183 Hijri (4.9.799 AD)

Imam Musa Ibn Ja’far was born during the struggle between the Ummayads and the Abbasids. He was only four years old when Abul Abbas “Saffah”, “The Shedder of Blood”, came to the throne as the first Abbasid caliph. For twenty years he was under the authority of his father, who died ten years before the end of the long reign of Mansur
