Union Home Minister Amit Shah lambasted senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Digvijaya Singh for their absence at consecration of Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

Shah highlighted the Congress party's neglect of the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya over several decades, contrasting it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisive action that culminated in the realization of the temple's construction.

While campaigning in Khilchipur, part of the Rajgarh Lok Sabha constituency, Shah took a dig at Digvijaya Singh, the Congress candidate, urging voters to bid him farewell from politics with grandeur.

Shah alleged that Rahul Gandhi and Digvijaya Singh skipped the Ayodhya event out of fear of losing their vote banks, asserting that such actions should not be forgiven by the electorate.

Shah criticised the Congress for its stance on Article 370, suggesting that its retention contributed to the flourishing of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, contrasting it with the Modi government's firm action in revoking the provision.

Shah challenged Rahul Gandhi's inclusion of a promise in the Congress manifesto regarding personal law, implying that it could reintroduce controversial practices like instant triple talaq, which were banned by the Modi government.

The Union Home Minister accused Digvijaya Singh of associating the saffron colour with terrorism, using derogatory terms to discredit Singh's tenure as Chief Minister and urging voters to decisively defeat him in the upcoming elections.

With Rajgarh and eight other constituencies set to vote on May 7 in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, Shah's remarks underscored the high-stakes political contest and the contrasting visions offered by the BJP and the Congress.
