The KDMC has issued an appeal to the public to come forward with any information about missing family members following Dombivli factory blast.

To streamline the process, a dedicated helpdesk has been established at the civic-run Shastri Nagar hospital. Citizens can reach out to this facility by calling the provided contact numbers (0251-2481073/2495338) to report any missing persons or seek assistance in locating their family.

The release from KDMC highlights the difficulties in accurately determining the number of casualties due to the severe impact of the blast. With body parts recovered from the site, authorities emphasize the necessity of DNA tests to ascertain the exact count of fatalities.

According to official reports, a total of 68 people sustained injuries in the factory blast, with 42 already discharged from hospitals. The remaining 26 patients are undergoing treatment in various medical facilities, with 12 of them receiving intensive care.

The KDMC reassures the public that all injured individuals are currently in stable condition, indicating positive progress in their recovery journey. This update provides some relief amid the distressing aftermath of the tragic incident.

Extensive firefighting operations involving 12 firefighters and 52 water tankers were conducted to contain the blaze at the factory and its surroundings. Additionally, efforts are underway to manage the debris and solid waste generated by the incident, with materials being sent to Taloja for processing.

Avdesh Kumar, a worker at the chemical factory, shares harrowing details of the chaos and destruction unleashed by the blast. His firsthand testimony underscores the severity of the situation, with debris and metal fragments causing widespread havoc within seconds.

Police have taken two owners, including a 70-year-old woman, into custody following the blast. The detention follows allegations outlined in the FIR, which suggest negligence on the part of the company regarding chemical mixing, product storage, and safety protocols, leading to the tragic explosion and its repercussions.
