Mumbai: 6 accused in Salman Khan house firing case booked under MCOCA

The Crime Branch Unit 9 imposed MCOCA on all the six alleged accused involved in the Salman Khan firing case. "All the alleged accused are a part of the same syndicate and hence, we have imposed MCOCA on them,"said the police.

The police have also imposed the MCOCA on gangster Lawrence Bisnoi and his brother Anmol. During the investigations, it was revealed that Anuj Thapan, an alleged accused who supplied the gun to Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, "There are three cases against him, as he worked as a shooter for the gang," said the crime branch official.

In 2023, Anuj Thapan and other members of the Bishnoi gang had tried to extort money from a businessman in Gangapur, Thapan was one of the members. They had fired on the Rajasthan police, which retaliated with crossfire and injured one of the gang members," said a source from Mumbai police. "Several cases of extortion had been registered against Anuj," said Gangapur SP Gaurav Yadav.

According to the Crime Branch officials, after two motorbike-borne men had allegedly fired at Galaxy Apartments, the Crime Branch had arrested Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal from Bhuj, Gujarat. Based on their inputs, the police were able to arrest Sonu Chander and Thapan.
