A fire broke out in a cloth godown in Thane district in the early hours of Saturday, a civic official said, reported news agency PTI.
No one was injured in the fire that started on the premises in Bhiwandi around 2.30 am, he said, reported PTI.
Four fire engines and water tankers from nearby areas were rushed to the spot to tackle the blaze, he said, adding that its cause was yet to be determined, reported PTI.

In another incident, four persons were injured in a fire that broke out in a hospital in Kandivali West in Mumbai on Saturday.
The blaze started at 1:50pm in the rear part of WINS Hospital, which is located in 30-storey 'Kesar Ashish' building near Mahavir Nagar, and was doused at 2:05pm, the Fire Brigade said.
"Four persons sustained injuries in the fire that was confined to electrical wiring, installations and the compressor of the centralised air conditioning mechanism in the facility," the Fire Brigade said.
Swadhin Mukhi (56) received 35-40 per cent burn injuries, Rajdeo (35) sustained 15 per cent burn injuries, while Narendra Maurya (45) and Sunil (35) had superficial burn wounds.
"They have been hospitalised and their condition is stable as per doctors," the civic body said.
Meanwhile, a private bus carrying 35 passengers caught fire after one of its tyres burst on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Saturday, in which nobody was injured, officials said, reported PTI.
The incident occurred around 7 am at Aadhe village in Maval taluka of Pune district, they said, reported PTI.
"The bus was travelling on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway towards Pune. When it reached Adhe village in Maval, it suffered a tyre burst bus and caught fire soon afterwards," a fire official said, reported PTI.
All 35 passengers and the bus driver were safely taken out of the bus in time and nobody suffered any injury, he said, reported PTI.
Major part of the bus was gutted in the blaze. On being alerted, the fire brigade staff reached the spot and doused the flames. The fire was doused by the teams of IRB patrolling, Delta Force along with the Vadgaon traffic police department.
