Vintage Mumbai: How Bandra beholds its beauty since olden times

Bandra has another spectacular attraction in its city, i.e. the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. The sea link connects Bandra to Worli and opens up to beautiful views of the Arabian Ocean and Mumbai skyline.

Bandra is not only famous for Bandstand, Linking Road, or Carter Road, but also for being the address to several corporate houses. This is an old picture of a marriage bureau located in the city's age-old posh locality.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, more commonly known as Mount Mary Church stands on a hillock overlooking the Arabian Sea. The feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated at the church on the first Sunday post 8 September, the birthday of the Virgin Mary.

Apart from the scenic setting of Bandstand, Bandra also plays the host to several celebrity homes. Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan and others reside in Bandra.

Although the current church is just 100 years old, the history behind the current statue of Our Lady goes back to the 16th century.

Bandra Talao, also known as Lotus Tank, is not only a prominent landmark of Mumbai but also a popular hangout area for Mumbaikars. The vintage photo shows how the tank and its surrounding area is beautifully restored and maintained since the past.

Bandra Bandstand has always been a popular hangout area, especially for lovebirds. Since time immemorial, the beautiful promenade has been witnessing hundreds of couples getting cosy and rekindling their love stories in the Maximum City. This old picture shows one such couple spending some beautiful time amidst the ocean.
