THIS director-producer believed Raveena Tandon cannot do serious roles

Going down memory lane, the actress who featured in a number of glamorous and comedy roles recalled, "I started off with 'Shool' and it was the doorway for people to take me seriously. Ram Gopal Varma was the producer and he was not at all convinced that I could do it. He kept telling people including me that when he closes his eyes he sees me doing Akhiyon Se Goli Maare."

Speaking about completing 33 years in the industry she said, "It's been a long journey, there have been ups and downs but overall it's been a great culmination of everything."

Raveena said she intentionally started taking up challenging roles. "At times I would be nervous and scared about the criticism and reviews and it actually turned out well."

Abour recieving the Padma Shri she said, "A lot of people on Twitter messaged me saying they are surprised I hadn't got it already and that it was long overdue."

The actress who featured in a spate of comedy films with Govinda, gives him credit for helping her perfect her comic timing.  Watch the full interview on mid-day's Youtube channel.
