These Bollywood films set against the travel background struck a chord with audience

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011): The story of Zoya Akhtar's movie, 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' (2011), revolves around three friends' road trip in Spain. During this time, each of them have different experiences. Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Katrina Kaif play the lead roles.

Karwaan (2018): Akarsh Khurana depicts a journey carried out from Bangalore to Kochi by two friends, the reserved Avinash played by Dulquer Salmaan, and his friend Shaukat played by Irrfan Khan with a lighter take on life, who pick up the chirpy teenager Mithila Palkar on the way.

Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017): Shah Rukh Khan's movie, Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017), is a true traveller's movie. SRK plays a guide and Anushka Sharma is a Gujarati tourist, who is on a Europe tour. During their travel, the circumstances bring them closer to each other. Imtiaz Ali directed this film.

Tamasha (2015): Travel plays an important part in almost all Imtiaz Ali movies. He made 'Tamasha' (2015) with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. In the film, Ranbir and Deepika meet each other during a tour in Corsica.

Jab We Met (2007): Imtiaz Ali's 'Jab We Met' (2007) also progresses through the theme of travel. The film starts with Kareena Kapoor Khan's train journey, where she meets Shahid Kapoor.

Jagga Jasoos (2017): The story of Ranbir Kapoor's 'Jagga Jasoos' (2017) was based on the search of a father by his son, for which Ranbir's character had to travel from Manipur to Kolkata and then to South Africa and a host of other places. Katrina Kaif is Ranbir's travel partner. Anurag Basu has directed the film.

Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani (2013): The story of Ayan Mukerji's movie 'Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani' (2013) is based on the journey of four friends. Himachal Pradesh's valleys and beautiful monuments of Rajasthan are a part of the story. Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin played lead roles.

Piku (2015): Shoojit Sircar's 'Piku' (2015) was based on a father-daughter relationship, where a road trip was a key part of the story. Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan embark on a road trip from Delhi to Kolkata in the film as the story unfolds.

Dil Dhadakne Do (2015): Zoya Akhtar's 'Dil Dhadakne Do' (2015) is a story about a dysfunctional family that goes on a cruise tour with friends and family. The film depicts how the relationship between each family member takes a new turn as the story unfolds. Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma and Shefali Shah played lead roles.

Queen (2014): Probably one of the most important movies of Kangana Ranaut's career, Queen (2014) is the story of a girl whose marriage gets cancelled at the last minute and she goes alone to Paris for her honeymoon. The film has been directed by Vikas Bahl.

Chennai Express (2013): Rohit Shetty-directed 'Chennai Express' (2013) is a romantic action film, but travelling has also been an integral part of its story. In the film, Shah Rukh's character is a traveller on the train where he meets Deepika Padukone and the story unfolds.

Chalo Dilli (2011): The story of Lara Dutta's first home production, 'Chalo Dilli' (2011), is based on a journey to Delhi. En route to her destination via plane, Lara Dutta, a busy executive gets stranded with a middle-class fast-talking man played by Vinay Pathak.

Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd (2007): Reema Kagti's directorial debut film 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd' (2007) is a comedy-drama film. This is the story of six couples on honeymoon, who go on a four-day trip to Goa.

Highway (2014): Right before her wedding, a young woman (Alia Bhatt) finds herself abducted and held for ransom. As the initial days pass, she begins to develop a strange bond with her kidnapper (Randeep Hooda). Though Imtiaz Ali's 'Highway' (2014) addresses sensitive issues like child molestation, travelling has played a vital role in the story. Imtiaz shot the film in 6 states.

Mr and Mrs Iyer (2002): Aparna Sen-directed 'Mr. and Mrs Iyer' (2002) is a sensitive story in which during a bus journey, a devout Hindu Brahmin woman, played by Konkona Sen Sharma, protects a Muslim man, played by Rahul Bose when communal riots break out.
